So...What's the Good News?

My good news is that I got a new job in Amsterdam. That's great for me because I'm finally going back to work after a year off and I love everything about Amsterdam.
Of course, I've only visited briefly. Working there might change my opinion about the city. But I doubt it. Amsterdam is beautiful. If you haven't been, go. Right now.
Or maybe wait until after Christmas.

Thank you. Unfortunately, I did not get a raise. But I suppose after taking a year off, any income can be considered a raise.

Thank you. I'll never technically live there. It's a part time job, so I'll be commuting. I've already lined up an apartment for the brief times I am there, but I will treat it more like a hotel. I won't keep any stuff there and other people will live there while I am here.
The fun part is that, even though I'll never be a resident, I still have to get insurance, open a bank account and get a household registry number. And, of course, I get to pay taxes in yet another country.

Got my first Christmas card of the year today from my youngest daughter, gdaughter and son-in-law.
With a nice little letter of updates on what they did this year, including going to see The Harlem Globetrotters and a trip to Disney World.

After losing her 15 year old Springer Spaniel 2 years ago, my oldest daughter has finally got a new sweet female dog.
The Labrottie is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Rottweiler. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. This hybrid cross is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club as the Labrottie.
