I'm not asking for an easy passage, so I hope you'll understand. When you view the threads and you see a topic with over 40+ replies, does it put you off in getting involved? I suppose its not an issue to those who are able to visit the site daily, but for me it deters me from reading the post, no matter how interesting it sounds. Am I :- A) Right B) Lazy

If I had some more time to spend, then I guess I'd be with you my friend.

I'm on here sometimes twice a day, so I can keep up okay, but I see where you're coming from. What puts you off is the length of the thread but sometimes it's the length of the post that puts me off. You're not lazy, you probably just have more of a life than some of us!

40 replies is 2 and 2/3rds pages! What happens if this thread goes over 3 pages? I would recommend reading the last page and join in from there!

Yeah I know your both correct. But if the post is 'Paul Alphabet' and is 200 pages long, then there is no way I can post without being sure my answer is unique. I'm sorry. Looking at my original post I think I'm being a bit picky. Just ignore me. ...still getting used to the concept of forums etc...

Don't worry about that--in the Magical Mystery Tour thread we get repeats all the time!

Not offputting--quite the opposite, if the long post is interesting and/or funny. I'd never want to frequent a site and just post one or just a few sentences every time--when a poster does that I find their forum presence usually rather dull and unrewarding. Not in all cases, though.

Its not the length of a post that puts me off so much as when the post includes an unedited quote of a previous post. I really do wish posters who need to include quotes would just edit the quote down to just a specific line or two which is usually all they are actually replying to.

The only problem with that is when they edit it too much. Sometimes you can't join in on a conversation because there is no clue as to what one is talking about.
