^ There is so much going on...it's hard to catch all of it. That' great! I did catch one of the snowboarders yesterday with a shoulder cam taking video as he went down the course. That was really cool! I love the strength and grace they display!

I felt bad for Hannah Kearney, not only from the USA, but a New England native...she did win the Bronze - however, that obviously upset her as she had high hopes for the gold...One little blip on while riding over a bump during her skiing run cost her - The gold and silver went to two Canadian sisters, which is pretty cool itself

That is sad...she looked pretty stressed from the little bit I caught of her yesterday...A Bronze is far better than not medaling at all, although! Good Job!

Did you see the US women's hockey game today? I actually felt sorry for the Swiss team.

I root for everyone...but, mostly the athletes!

That was a pretty intense USA/Russian hockey game...thank god for loose goal nets
-
I wish I'd have caught that! Am reading about it now! Pretty tight race for medals overall! Saw a segment last night where russia was making olympic commemorative medals with a piece of last years meteorite mounted in the center! Wish I had one of those!

We're only half way through the games! However right now Switzerland is extremely proud of its athletes! They really have surprised us in the best possible way!

Good to see a little curling...I have no idea why, but both my daughter and I are absolutely hooked on this and have been since two Winter Olympics ago...There isn't any one component of it where I can point and say 'this (or) that is thrilling'...but there's something mesmerizing about it... And several years ago, a curling club had an open house and we decided to give it a shot...it's not as easy as it looks...Even that first part where they slide down the ice with the stone to give it momentum and direct it...it was actually painful (in the legs particularly) to do that ops:

A Russian skier named Maria Komissarova broke her back while practicing....my thoughts and prayers are with her for a speedy recovery http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/15/world/sochi-russian-skier-injured/

^ Curling has always been fascinating to watch! The physics and mathematics of it have always been near magical to ponder! ^ Have always loved the swiss people! "Swiss Alps" is one of the first geographical terms you learn as a kid here in the states. I even have a touch of swiss in my bloodline from my mother's side. Go Switzerland!

Here's a beautiful one... "Gold medal winner Dario Cologna of Switzerland waited it out to the very end of the 15km classic cross-country skiing race to give its last-place finisher a congratulatory hug. Swiss cross-country skier Cologna won his second gold medal of the Sochi Olympics on Friday with a stellar performance in the 15km. But he waited it out nearly 30 minutes later for the race's last participant, Roberto Carcelen, to make it through to the finish line to congratulate the Peruvian Winter Olympian for completing the race. Carcelen had suffered a fractured rib during training but raced the 15k classic nevertheless. He finished in 87th and last place with a time of 1:06:28.9. Cologna's first-place finish logged a time of 38:29.7. First to greet 43-year-old Carcelen at the finish line, however, was Dachhiri Sherpa, the 44-year-old Nepalese cross-country skier who predicted he'd come in last place. Sherpa finished 86th. Then Cologna also came by to give his regards. Now if everyone in the Olympics was like this guy...what a message that would send to the world."

US Hockey team lost to Canada today (sorry if you were waiting to watch the replay later...LOL) Currently watching Canada vs Great Britain in men's curling...pretty cool stuff. Looks like Canada has this match (and the gold) well in hand
