Amsterdam - Ziggo Dome - June 7 & 8, 2015 - ARCHIVE

It's the Little Richard b side. Saw him do it at one of the Tokyo soundchecks back in 2013.

So I have finally sorted out my pictures from those two concerts and since as I can see, it is not usual here to post many pictures, I don't want to spam here and I posted my review with the pictures (more than 40) here (a Rolling Stones forum actually : http://www.iorr.org/talk/read.php?1,1910396,page=18 Edit: the page link was editted - it was merged with another thread by the administrator. You will find my review and pictures under my nick, which is also Happy24

Is there any Dutch speaker here that can translate what Paul says there? "Demasel"?
-
What he says is "de mazzel". Mazzel is a Yiddish word meaning "good luck" (like mazzeltov). People in Amsterdam use a lot of Yiddish words and when they leave they say "de mazzel" or just "mazzel" to each other. It's a typical saying in Amsterdam. You are from Israel, do you know the word "mazzel" ? Another Yiddish word he used during the concert was "Mokum", meaning "Amsterdam". The Amsterdam dialect has some great words taken from the Yiddish, like gabber (friend), sores (troubles), mesjogge (crazy), jatten (to steal),jofel (good/fine), alles kits (everything OK). Last time in Rotterdam Paul said: "alles kits achter de rits ?", which rhyms nicely in Dutch and literally means: "everything OK behind your zipper ?".......

Haha, I recognize a lot of the words here, Yiddish is very close to Hebrew in a lot of words (Gabber - haber - friend. Sores - Sarot - troubles. Mesjogge - mesuga - crazy. Jofel - yofy - good/fine). I haven't associated it to Yiddish at first, but know when you pay my attention to it I notice the similarities. Thank you for your profound explanation!

Excellent! Here is some photographs of Paul doing the Canal boat tour in Amsterdam and cycling through the city: http://www.ishootpeople.nl/?q=Mccartney What I really like is th fact he took a standard red tourist bike, like all people visiting Amsterdam do.

Wow! Nice pictures? Who followed him all this way? Paparazzi?

Yeah, I took one when I was in Amsterdam for the show too. But I think he took a private boat, didn't he? Good looking wood boat, it isn't the regular boats you can take from the central train station, am I right?
-
Yes, he took the boat from the back side of the Amstel hotel on Monday. The hotel borders the Amstel river and they have their own boats. He got off the boat near Central Station to ride the bike. Indeed the pictures were taken by a papparazi photographer. This photographer was waiting at Amstel hotel all of the time. We had been waiting for 3 hours and saw Paul leaving the hotel via the front door at around 17:30 on Sunday, which was great. Then on Monday at around 13.00 he got on the boat, dressed incognito as you can see in the pictures and returned 1.5 hrs later by boat again.

That sounds really nice! Have you been at both shows?
-
Yes, attended both shows. Use to live in Amsterdam for almost 10 yrs so it was special to see him there. Did you like the city Yahlil ? Did you have a GA ticket or seated ? I think the sound was better on the 2nd evening, it was a little too loud on the first evening, but maybe it was just where I was standing..

I really liked it! Hoping to visit there again in the near future. I attended the first show with a VIP Early Entry ticket and I was standing in the front row exactly in front of Paul, it was the closest I ever was in a concert, such an AMAZING experience! Where have you stood in both shows?
-
Yes, front row experience is something you will never forget ! What made you decide to come to Amsterdam instead of Paris, or Oslo or Stockholm BTW? I stood in the middle of the arena on the 7th because we arrived late at Ziggo dome after waiting at the hotel. He left really late for the soundcheck. On The 2nd night I was at the 5th row where Rusty was standing. Got in the queue at 17.30 and doors opened at around 19:00 because " the dinosaur is still doing a soundcheck" as one of the guards outside told us.

Haha, good answer. I chose Amsterdam because the dates were good for my schedule and the ticket price wasn't super expensive like in London or Paris. If I was not booked the hotel and the flight before the second show was announced, I was buying a ticket for the second show aswell.

Is there any Audio/Video file (Mp3/4) of the first show? I'm not talking about the videos on YouTube that was shot on a smartphone, is there something more professional?

Sometimes TV stations are allowed to film the first couple of songs, so maybe a Dutch network has a few minutes of footage.
