Hi to all fellow McCartney fans wherever you are. I'm Andy & I live in Kent, SE England. I've been using the main site for a long while now but only just decided to join the forum. I've been a fan of Paul & the Beatles since I first saw them on Sunday Night at the London Palladium in October 1963. I joined the Fun Club at its start in March 1972 and was a continuous member till it finished due to tragic circumstances, in 1998. I still have all the original Club letters, Sandwiches, t-shirts, badges etc, etc, that were given away or I bought during that time. I first met Paul, Linda, Denny, Denny & Henry in March 1973 when I was lucky enough to get tickets for 2 shows that were being recorded at Elstree Studios for Pauls TV show "James Paul McCartney" what a truly momentous couple of days...wow actually meeting and chatting to all of them (plus autographs of course!!). My only regret is that you wer'nt allowed cameras (we hadnt even dreamed of Smartphones!!!) so I have no photographic record of one of or probably the , best days of my life. One consolation though I can been seen applauding at the start of the show when it was shown on TV later that year. The Fun Club in the early years was a great club to be in, the chances to get tickets to video shoots, premieres, concerts etc was so much different to the latter days when it had spread to all corners of the globe and personal contact by phone or letter to the Club office just couldnt continue with such a huge fanbase. Another one of my highlights was attending the premiere to "Give My Regards to Broad Street" at the Empire Theatre, Leicester Square. Walking up the red carpet with the crowds behind barriers & the cameras all flashing away was truly amazing. All the stars were there, Paul, Linda & Ringo as well as numerous other stars from the entertainment world including John Entwistle & Pauls cousin Kate Robbins both of who I met in the bar afterwards. I've attended practically all of Pauls London concerts except for a couple of VIP only shows. My avatar is a pic of me in 1979 at Lympne Castle near where I live, where Wings recorded Back to the Egg the previous summer. Anyway thats enough from me for now....look forward to hearing from fellow fans & reading all your posts. Regards Andy
