Sound Check
-
Thanks for the info. I figure if we timed getting there for when the sound check folks were supposed to arrive at least we would know we didn't miss it. -D Any limo watch tips from those that have done it?

Stand your ground. The worse is people coming at the last minute and PUSHING their way to get in front of you. You try to be nice and end up with a blocked view. Most people are great - its fun to chat while you wait.
-
Also, it will happen fast! The cars won't stop, he just rolls the window down and waves as they head into the venue. You might have 5 seconds in which to decide if you want to take a picture or see him "live" with your unobscured eyes.

At Soundcheck, there were no venders. Once inside, they told us, we couldn't go outside again. So, we NEVER EVEN SAW the venders or what was for sale. I did hear, after the show, that they had been selling the Out There t-shirts for $40. Now, if I want a t-shirt, I have to pay for the extra taxes and shipping online. Haven't decided yet if I will order one. Probably not.

In Lincoln, we were escorted to the merchandise stands after the sound check. Was Paul running late? We also had plenty of time to stand in line with other fans between the meal and time to go to your seat.
-
I hope there will be time to buy a shirt when doing the sound check deal. This will be my first one. In the past, I've shown up plenty early for the limo watch and gotten my shirt outside the checkpoint before the masses arrive.

He started playing about 5:15, I think, for sound check, but I was not checking my watch closely. We had a very funny man at our table who was telling Beatles' tales, so we were entertained.

We tried to go into the vendor's area before going into sound check, but one of the guards said that area didn't open until 5pm.

We were told after sound check, that we had access to the merchandise stands and there wasn't a lot of waiting. The music students were escorted out of the venue and we were escorted to the merchandise stands.

Missoula was an outdoors venue. We never even saw the merchandise stands because the vendors had already dismantled them by the end of the show. Also, 25,000 people had to walk, herd style, out the door, across two bridges to get to parking.

I didn't know which venue you attended sound check. I would guess that made a difference. We did have time between the end of sound check and the concert to visit the stands and I know some did, especially some who weren't fond of the food and left as soon as they saw the buffet.

Yeah. Now, if we want to order a t-shirt online, we have to pay about $8 for shipping and another $7 or so for tax on top of the $40. I may just let it go.

Does anyone know what the minimum time might be between the soundcheck and Paul's arrival on stage to start the show?

About 2 hours.

Seems like that would be enough time to go into the venue to get a shirt. Or do they not let you out of the food place until right before the show starts?

They escorted us directly from the food place to our seats in the stadium.

At recent soundchecks, did they give you the merchandise items? Asking because they usually include a bag or backpack and if so, I can use it to hold my jacket and won't need to bring a bag inside. I've only had "gold" tix before, and merch was mailed to me afterwards. Thanks!

In Missoula, so I assume at all shows this tour, we received a backpack with a coffee travel mug and a tour book. Very pleasantly surprised!!
