Hi Harley. I may be interested but sadly won't be able to make a decision on that until darn Bart decides whether it will be running next week or not. If you find someone in the meantime that's cool but if not let me know if its still available on Monday.

Thanks! I am a bit too because we can't even make for sure travel plans to GGP because we don't know what the heck is up with BART. (they seriously need to stop dragging this on and on) But my plan is that I'm getting off work at 2:30pm (which normally would be plenty of time to get to the park) and meeting up with my friend, but it all depends on where I'm working that day, in the city or at home if the strike is on! Good luck Harley!

I ended up getting an earlier flight, so I'll be in San Fran before 8 am now. The other option was way too stressful! I am staying in union square, but I went ahead and bought shuttle passes to the festival through their site. It says pick up is in the civic center- is that close to union square at all? I'm probably going to have to take a taxi to get to the shuttle! My plan is to get to the park as soon as they open and just sit all day and wait. Reasonable?

Civic center is only one BART stop away from Union Square. If Bart is running get on at Powell street station ( there are several entrances to it so should be easy to find) then get off at civic center though I forget the exit you get out at for where the shuttles are picking up near bill graham auditorium. Be careful around civic center as there are some not so nice areas around it but in daytime you should be just fine! Good luck next Friday and enjoy your stay in SF!

You also have supershuttle.com as an option for getting to and from the airport if the strike happens. It'll cost about $35 for a round trip into the city. parlance

Yes great suggestion Parlance! And a lot less money then a taxi!

Thanks, all! I am flying into Oakland (hopefully they have a supershuttle there?) and staying very close to the Powell street stop. If the strike happens, i guess I'm a great walker! It's going to be a crazy few days! The things we do for Paul

Yes super shuttle runs from Oakland airport as well. Next Friday will be a great night in SF!

My flight gets in around 8am Friday morning as well and I had planned on taking Bart in. My hotel is near Civic Center but I can't check in that early so I was going straight to the park from airport. Now I find out my friend doesn't think he can handle Bart cause it goes underground. and with the possibility of a strike that just throws an additional wrench into the plan. I looked at Super Shuttle as well. It's definitely an idea. Wonder if I could take it close to the park instead of a hotel? Planning on just cabbing it back to hotel after show. Then he is talking about renting a car. Ahhhhh, this is sounding insane. Just hope I get there.
-
I don't think renting a car is a very desirable option. Where are you flying into? I'm flying into Oakland and probably getting a cab (or super shuttle), then dropping my bag off at the hotel and heading to the park. Bought the 3 day shuttle passes as well. If our plans coincide, we could split a taxi.
-
Doesn't sound like there is anyplace to park a car, according to this article. http://www.sfgate.com/music/article/If-you-re-going-to-Outside-Lands-4701167.php And if you are going straight from the airport to the festival, what are you going to do with your luggage? Most festivals don't allow big bags, I don't think. Good luck to everyone working on this one so you can all make it in time to see Paul!
-
wished I didn't buy the 3 day pass...since I'm getting there late it's back & fourth on the train hotels too expensive~ gahhh I hate missing the show-- never been late to the gig~ ops: :
-
Harleyblues, are you going to the show? I'm sort of confused. I'd be happy to try to save a spot for you, if that's even a realistic option.
-
Well, the BART unions just announced they will strike starting on Monday. Still time for a deal to be reached before Sunday night, but I'm not holding my breath, both sides are being majorly stubborn this time around. Hope everybody is able to make it safe and sound to see Paul next Friday! All the chaos will be worth it I'm sure though once he hits the stage!
