So the question to me, as one who relunctantly purchased the suitcase to make sure I got every last song released, is whether or not there is anything in terms of music that is unique to the traveller's edition. I certainly don't really want a suitcase, a deck of cards, map, etc. - I just wanted the music. I would have gladly just purchased this new explorer's edition if that has everything. Perhaps there is a surprise in store for me in the traveller's edition - maybe Paul personally signed each one.
Honestly I'd consider trying to return the suitcase now that I see this, but the completist in me knows that maybe there is something in there that I will end up wanting, so I'll stay put. The extra salt in the wound is that I'm a CD guy and not really a vinyl guy, and I'm not sure that the CD2 explorer's edition is even included in the traveller's edition. I will probably end up still buying the 2 CD version.

I feel your pain Hawkeye. I splurged £315 on the travellers edition, mainly so I could get the unreleased music. Now this Explorers edition is being released I feel really ripped off. With the Explorers edition costing £52 I've just spent £263 more than I needed to to get the unreleased music. The stuff in the suitcase will have to be pretty special for me to feel happy that I spent the extra £263. If its personally signed by Paul that would be great but I doubt that will be part of the package.
Oh and for completists there's a red vinyl version of the Explorers edition on Musicvaults (although it's sold out);

Everything in the Explorer’s edition is included in the Traveller’s edition. Don’t buy it! There is also some extra stuff (songs/videos) in the Traveller’s that they aren’t even saying what it is, so that it will be a surprise for us! Read the product description:

I don't know how many times I've read the description, but it isn't clear to me that the extra tracks are on CD. Clearly they are on vinyl and HD audio, but the description of the concertina CD (which we already have) is the only CD listed.
I get it; I am free to not purchase. And I am intrigued, like most, about what the surprises are. But when dropping this much money, in a very limited edition run where a fan feels like it is a one time shot to purchase, in my opinion I believe we should know all the specifics of what we are getting. Like I said, I made the purchase and didn't have to. But I don't think this is the best way to treat fans/customers in this case.

Yeah, I caved and got it as a birthday present to myself (it arrives May 10th, the day before my “When I’m 64” birthday!) My mom said she’d pay for part of it as her present to me.

I see how it is confusing - I agree, it sounds like the extra songs are on vinyl. Luckily I have an old turntable, plus a Crosley Beatles/Sgt. Pepper record player, so it doesn’t bother me. I am not a vinyl person either. I haven’t even played the John Lennon Imagine vinyl that came with the deluxe set! Other than that, this is the first vinyl I’ve purchased in a long time - like 32 years!

Back in the 1970's I use to be an avid collector of all things McCartney related, and then came the mid-80's and the Press to Play era releases,...and it was then when I gave up. There were just so many remixed releases that I just couldn't keep up anymore. And once my collection was incomplete I just didn't bother after that, so much so that 35 years on there is a whole load of McCartney releases / songs that I have never heard let alone own.
And now its going that way again it seems, with Macca trying desperately to maintain commercial interest in a sub-standard product. At least with Memory Almost Full he gave copies away free with a newspaper.
No doubt the sales figures for Egypt Station will increase and will look impressive on paper but thats only because fans will want access to CD2, a cd which really has nothing to do with its parent album.

I didn’t buy it just for the surprises. (And btw, it sold out long ago) I might even not open it and later sell it on eBay.
