Am i the only one that thinks it is really bad that they are making the fans enter a ballot to get a presale code?

Other years they have sent them out to all the people that were on the mailing list and they say it is fan verified but anyone can enter the ballot, surely it would have been fairer to send them to all the member on here that have been here for years?

I dont like the fact that i wont know if i have a presale code until 2-4 hours before the prersale?

I guess those who wish to buy pre-sale tickets will have to depend on luck, as it has now become a lottery-like process:

Paul McCartney | Verified Fan |  Ticketmaster UK.

What is the Ticketmaster Verified Fan Presale?

At Ticketmaster, we’re committed to getting more tickets into the hands of fans. Through our partnerships with artists, we’re here to help ensure that real fans get to see the artists they love – and that touts and bots are kept away – giving you priority access to great tickets.

What else do I need to know?

We want to give every fan access to great tickets. Since there is a limited quantity of tickets, they will be available through a ballot-selection process and then on a first-come-first-served basis, and are not guaranteed.

Select the show(s) you wish to register for from the list below. You may register for as many shows as you wish.

Please note each show will be balloted separately, and presale codes will be unique to each show. If you are successful for more than one venue, this will mean you will receive more than one presale code. You are not guaranteed to receive a presale code for every show you register for.

Will the presale tickets be actually for good seats though? Last time for the UK dates they weren't great!

          2011 Liverpool Echo Arena

2013 met Paul at London signing

          2015: London (x2) and Liverpool

2016: Munich and met on stage!

          2018: Abbey Road secret gig

          2018: London and Liverpool

Unfortunately, I think the only way to be assured great seats is to buy one of the VIP packages.

yes and i'm being made to choose between spending my bday with my little boy (who will be 2 years and 3 months) or spending it with his Uncle Paul (as we refer to him in front of him!). I am of course seeing Paul (after all how many times will there be to see him after this, let alone on my bday!) but feeling so so so so guilty that i feel a front row package is the only way to help! 😉

Go, but don’t get front row - you may end up too far to the right or left as it only includes the side sections. Get Hot Sound Package which for you guys is cheap ($880 versus $1600 in U.S.!)  £625 for you!!

If they go through Ticketmaster booking history, then amongst numerous tickets for musicals, hopefully they will notice I've bought tickets to see Paul before 🙂

I think the anticipation is for the seats to go, and go fast.  Couple that with the loyal fanbase (us!) that are chomping at the bit waiting to get the best seats, it's difficult for new fans and first time Macca concert goers to grab a solid seat.

As much of a hassle as it is for us, I think it's a good way to even the playing field, so to speak, by dampening the number of hardcore fans swallowing up all the good seats.  If it gives opportunity for someone Paul's age that's never seen him before but always wanted to, or for the teenager that just discovered the Beatles and has this opportunity to see him, then I can handle the ballot-style for pre-codes.  yes

That's my thoughts on it.  🙂

Yeah, but as you guys have pointed out when you in the states pay for the front row and hot sound packages you know the seat number and row and block before you pay and commit, we are meant to just blindly pay and not know at all where we are sat! We're meant to gamble! 😞 Though yes, both countries are overpaying.

                                      .

yes and i'm being made to choose between spending my bday with my little boy (who will be 2 years and 3 months) or spending it with his Uncle Paul (as we refer to him in front of him!).

Yes, isn't  it mind numbing the price descrepency between US and Europe shows for these packages!

Exactly! I just found out from a friend of mine that she paid $850 for Gold VIP which includes a decent seat (like 12th row) and most of the same merchandise as Hot Sound Package (she didn’t get the lithograph in 2017) No soundcheck, no food.

That is ridiculous to me that you don’t know the exact seat when you buy! Why in the world can’t they do it like in the U.S.? I suppose they’d charge you higher prices like us then! 🙄

I've never done this "verified fan" ballot, so i have to ask:

                                            1. The pre-sale code is sent by SMS, so when you fill out your phone number do you put the "+" in front of the country code (for example, +55) or do you just type the numbers all together without the "+"?

                                            2. Pre-sale is handled by Ticketmaster UK, so is it possible to collect tickets at the venue? If not, do they mail overseas? Or is print-at-home the only option?
