No notifications when a new msg arrives

Hi,
I tried to provide feedback that I don't get any notifications when I get a new msg and I also have no idea whether the recipients get my msg as this board doesn't show that either. Also I can't provide feedback as it says that cookies from third parties are blocked on this computer, which I checked but they aren't blocked. Thanks for any help!

I also just found a private message & there was no "1" on my little envelope up there in the corner.

I have the opposite problem. That number never goes away, even after I've read every message.
