I have to say, Paul's routing for his tours sucks!!!! He just played Fresno, now he will play Sacramento, a two hour drive away. No show for Denver since 2010, yet he is already doing Minneapolis again with two shows, even though he played there less than two years ago. He has completely ignored the Rocky Mountain region. Nevermind New Mexico. The whole area. I think McCartney's tour management is smoking Paul's stash.

Definitely not environmentally conscious planning, dragging those 25 semis back and forth, criss-crossing, back-tracking.

        1976 Kansas City | 1990 Berkeley | 2002 Portland | 2005 Portland | 2013 Seattle | 2016 Portland

Just weird strategy. Why not play Fresno, then Sacramento, go up to the Pacific NW, then over the Sioux Falls, down to Little Rock, then up to Minneapolis? And do a show in Denver along the way? Makes no sense.

The reason he is playing Sacramento on Oct 4th is because he is going to be at Coachella / Indio that coming weekend for the big festival that people are talking about. So I would expect a few more North American shows during that month. I'm guessing Vegas, LA, and perhaps Florida.

I get what you're saying. It just seems he played that area already when he was in Fresno. California is like a nation unto itself, that explains part of the reasoning, I suppose.

Also that venue in Sacramento is not yet open. As I understand it, Paul will be the opening act.

Bingo. The Golden 1 arena is still under construction and will not be open until October.

There's just a "sameness" to Paul's tours and tour schedules that have become quite boring. Remember when being a Paul fan was fun?

It's still fun for me but not like it was because we're all older. I just didn't feel the excitement at the start of this tour I felt at other tours; even the Out There tour. I get a weird feeling about this tour, I can't really explain it. We're at the final stanza now. Bittersweet for me. I reckon this is his last tour. I wrote somewhere before I feel he's doing his victory lap.

Looking back his touring almost constantly over the years lessened the thrill a little bit with each passing year. They used to be events: front page news. But they've been commonplace (in some regions) for the best part of a decade.

Yeah, it used to be he was off the road a few years, and there would be an announcement and news coverage would be extensive. These recent tours seem to make news mainly in the towns where he plays and nowhere else. The Stones make world headlines playing Cuba. U2's The Edge was just in the international news for playing an acoustic set in the Sistine Chapel. Paul is in some small town letting people propose to each other on his stage. Or giving tattoo autographs. Why doesn't he go play China?? Instead of the same USA/South America pattern?? To be fair, he did a first and played South Korea. Budokan show was also cool.

Down under indeed! We pronounce the word as rooting ("root 66"). So for us and the English it sounds like a slang word for jiggy jig.
