At least there will be some HITS at Miller Park this summer! Sorry, couldn't resist that dig after the Brew Crews start to this season! And I'm an original member of the True Blue Brew Crew. So will the Racing Sausages be the warm up act?
I think Bernie should slide down during Helter Skelter!
Oh Yeah! Good call on that one.

Has anyone on here been to a concert at Miller Park? I have been to a game there but not a show. I am curious about the pregame tailgating. I have been to a lot of Ball parks but hands down Miller Park was the best and most tailgating of all I have seen. Will they be out in numbers again?
It wouldn't be Milwaukee without tailgating! But the parking lots aren't opening until 5PM .

TimeToChoose:
I got section 107, Row 22 seats 3 and 4....anybody have any idea (ie. been to a similar baseball stadium-sized show) how these seats are going to be for me? Thanks!
107 should be really good seats. I sat behind home plate at the Cincinnati show. Although it was pretty far away and the sound echoed with the overhang, we still had a great time. 107 at miller is on out in right field and should be close enough to have a fantastic view.

I have emailed event staff regarding this and will let you know what I hear back. I pointed out that the lots open at 1PM for the Kenny Chesney concert.

I saw Springsteen there several years ago, and maybe because of his GA pit lottery system? the parking lots were open before 5 pm, and my group had a really good tailgate. but again, that was years ago and maybe they have changed things.
-
OK, I heard back and the deal is that they open the lots 3 hours prior to an event and the Chesney concert starts at 5 with "additional programming" in the lots prior to the start. I wouldn't mind that timetable for Paul's show, frankly.

Does anyone have any idea what the Thursday presale is and what the password is? http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/ticketing/mccartney.jsp

Just thought I'd post a link to the old Wisconsin thread. Should be a bunch of posts about the last Milwaukee concert. Not many of us still posting on here. http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=31466&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1365

Any idea's on hotels near the venue? Suggestions?

The only hotel within reasonable walking distance of Miller Park is the BestWestern on National Ave across from the VA. It's about a 15-20 minute walk from the stadium. Lived in Milwaukee for 47 years but have never been in the place but from the outside appearance I honestly wouldn't expect much. My sister lives about 2 blocks away and I grew up at old County Stadium so I know the area. Other than that you are 2-3 miles from downtown hotels with really no public transport options. The lack of hotels within the immediate area and of public transport were a few of the big sticking points back in the mid '90's when they were trying to decide whether to build on the site of old County Stadium or downtown. Sorry, should add that there is a new Fairfield Inn on Miller Parkway about 15 minutes walk but I don't know if there are any rooms left or if they are open. Might be worth calling them ASAP! Definitely a ballpark built with auto access in mind. And, the major access route, I-94, is going to be under construction all summer. So be warned! Sorry, forgot there is a new Fairfield Inn on Miller Parkway about 15 minutes walk but I don't know if they are open or completely booked. Might be worth giving them a call ASAP!

One last tidbit...I would expect that there will be shuttle buses from the overflow parking at State Fair Park to the stadium like they do for Brewers games when they are expecting a huge crowd. I don't think they allow tailgating at the State Fair lots...Would have to check that out.

Kelly, here is a list of businesses, including hotels, which run shuttles to the stadium. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g60097-i370-k4373955-Updated_List_of_Shuttles_to_Miller_Park_4_4_11-Milwaukee_Wisconsin.html

thanks for the info folks..
-
Just checked and the BestWestern on National Ave still has rooms available on July 16th for $99. Veggie, good catch on finding that shuttle list! I would only add that the list appears to be from 2011 and I know a few of those businesses are no longer operating so I would call ahead. I would think some of the downtown hotels would be operating shuttles as well.

looking forward to coming up for the show, I would like to get some idea's for a good place to eat. I prefer locally owned and private restaurants over chains. I plan on being in the area for two days.
