Join Paul (aka, one of music's most iconic artists ever) on stage during sound check and sing "Get Back" with him
That's pretty interesting. He never does Get Back during soundcheck. It says this will happen on Sept. 21, the 2nd of the two Brooklyn shows. Also interesting because the on-stage thing seems to be a substitute for a meet & greet.
Get Back at soundcheck? Sounds amazing to me
Was your Get Back at soundcheck or during the show itself?
It was at the soundcheck.

Quote: Getting called up on stage with Paul is a totally different situation than having a lottery of all those wanting to meet him and he picks your number out of a bag or something! Having your lottery ticket "drawn by the system", in my opinion is no different than having your sign "picked by Paul". I guess we agree to disagree...
A lottery is "anonymous" and would be totally fair. It would be highly unlikely for someone to be picked twice that way out of the thousands of ticket entries. My point was that if you made a sign once and were picked, don't make another sign at subsequent concerts. Give other people a chance.
Nancy...you should really read what you're saying before posting it!
I do and I stand by my words. Maccascruff agreed with me and perhaps there are others who just don't want to speak up. As you said before, agree to disagree. I won't speak of it again.

There are lots of people who don't come to this forum who agree with Nancy and me that people should stop trying to get on stage if they have been there once. I won't agree to disagree. I disagree with anyone who thinks it is okay to keep trying to get onstage once you have been there, whether it be at sound check or during the concert.

Those who want to be on stage will always be jealous of those that get to go on stage. Just human nature and that doubles to those who get to do it more than once. Those folks on forums and fan lists like these who take unprovoked attacks on those lucky few only show how small they are. With so many things in this world to worry about, you pick this?? YIPES! While I agree that I don't think you should try multiple times, you aren't hurting anybody and if Paul picks your sign...more power to you. I have come to the realization after 126 shows that I will never be on stage, and I am fine with that. I don't really know if that would be a good thing or a bad thing. But I have met the man a few times and I'm quite happy with that I don't hold someone giving their opinions on things of anything but I do think much less of you when the green headed monster comes out and you decide to personally attack folks. I'm not accusing those involved in this conversation of anything, just saying that I have seen some ugly things said on social media and that is NOT right! End Sermon!! I'll be the one not on stage!

Over 75 shows for me and also meeting Paul too many times to count...I know I will not be called up on stage. I am also ok with that. The fans that do get to go up should be allowed to bask in their very special moment. It's hard to believe a real fan wouldn't be happy for them. That being said, being called up more than once...well, I can understand the disappointment (anger & jealousy) of the fans that haven't been . Keep making signs! Your day may come! Never give up!

Maybe next show Paul can bring binoculars to read my sign!! I made a couple of signs for the last show, as I thought I was in the 5th row, I might have a chance... They actually have a 5th row in Siberia at the Meadowlands I had to look at the big screens from my 5th row seat I had an 11th row seat in Detroit one time, that was the same, only visible by Jumbo Screen. Maybe they can have a post your sign on the PM.com site and Paul can pick out signs from those!! That would be cool, you could be in the nosebleed section, and get on stage!!! That would give better eyesight during the show, for the people behind the signs too!!! That would really give everyone a chance

Now, even the most spontaneous moments are being completely exploited. "Score VIP tickets to Paul McCartney's show at Brooklyn's Barclays Center Join Paul (aka, one of music's most iconic artists ever) on stage during sound check and sing "Get Back" with him Get flown out to NY and put up in a 4-star hotel" https://www.omaze.com/experiences/paul-mccartney-get-back
Have you seen this? https://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/meet-sir-paul-mccartney-enjoy-dinner-backstage-with-2-1355401 Looks like this contest, to attend an after-party where Sir Paul will be (after Madison Sq Garden Show), is up to $37,000 now.
It does not say that Paul will be at the party. It's actually at 6:30 before the show. It says to enjoy dinner with the crew & band. "You will also have the opportunity to join the crew and band party backstage for a catered dinner (opening at approximately 6:30pm). "
Thanks, Oobu, have edited to correct it's before the show. It's a meet and greet.
You and a guest will meet Sir Paul McCartney before his show with two premier concert seating tickets on Friday, September 15th at Madison Square Garden!
That's odd that my quote of what you originally said changed. A mod must have intervened. edit to add...OMG now it's up to $55,000.00. Nancy quit bidding! and...Travel and accommodations are not included.
LOL Dinner with crew and band...you're treat!! Just kiddin...it's a great cause I'm sure. The Omaz gives you 10 free lottery tickets

I saw Pearl Jam in St Paul from the stratosphere section. After that, I won't even buy tickets if the seats are too far away. I don't care who it is.

I have to agree with you...went to see Dave Matthew with a friend who bought tickets...very far away. It was like a 3D TV show

Not sure if I like that girl hijacking Paul's stage, his concert, to announce she was coming out as gay. He had a funny look on his face. Wasn't the appropriate venue, perhaps. You think?
Paul was one who picked her! She didn't "hijack" his stage! I was there. Was I disappointed he didn't pick me, a fan for over 53 years? Of course! But it was his decision. The only reason he had a "funny look" was because she was there with her dad so obviously, unless he was blind, knew already what she had written on her sign.
I'm not so sure that Paul does the picking ALL of time. I think his "crew" does most of it...but I may be wrong.
I think he picks...which is why it always happens after the encore break...that's when he tells his crew who he wants. Because it seems to be people whose signs Paul has read aloud during the earlier part of the show. The girl in Duluth, for example. She wasn't even on the floor, she was in the lower level, but hers was one of the signs Paul chose to read out loud. Plus, it's Paul, I just think he is the one to decide who gets to come up.
Suzy- That's an extremely rude comment to make, don't you think? That girl happens to be a very good friend of mine, so I'll set you straight on a few things. She didn't hijack Paul's stage. Paul chose her. In fact, he had prior knowledge of her sign & If you watch the video of him reading the signs, he was actually LOOKING for her. She didn't know that he was going to actually read it or pick her- but he knew of the sign. Yes, her dad was with her. He knew she was gay. It was her mom and other family members (mom especially) who didn't know and would have a difficult time accepting this. Mom is a Paul fan and she figured having mom hear it from Paul would soften the blow & be a nice touch. I was in the audience & told her if she was chosen, I would video it for her so she could show it to mom & other family members. It's still been a bit difficult for her. As far as an appropriate venue, WTH do you mean by that? I would love to hear your response, Suzy. I have a feeling, though, you won't have the guts to respond.
