That touched me so, to read what they played when a patient was discharged.

Note to wingsoverkc: tell that to New York City. Tell that to anyone who has lost someone. Life is NOT about math. It's about L.O.V.E. EVERY one means 100% to those they leave behind. I hope no one close to you gets it, though then you may finally understand what the big deal is. The only thing missing from your post was a "bah humbug!". Open up your heart or this will come back to haunt you. Guarenteed.

Well, let me get my two cents in this discussion. Not only am a huge Wings fan, I'm also a huge math guy. Anyway, here goes; in the world as of today, .00016 of 1% have the virus; .0000088 of 1% have unfortunately died. In the USA, .00088 of 1% have the virus, and only .000024 of 1% have died. Why hasn't the world media presented these facts? Because bad news sells; good news does not. Here in the USA, CNN, MSNBC, and FOX have enjoyed their highest ratings EVER. Visited two emergency rooms this weekend in KC; not one virus patient yet. Sorry, but we all need to get back to work. This virus is not the Black Plague. It is a virus that nearly a huge majority recover from.
Are you in MO or Kansas? This is the latest from MO:
I my state of GA, it is much worse. As of 6:30 pm Apr. 21st:
20,166 cases, 3885 hospitalized, 818 deaths.
1238 of those cases and 44 of the deaths were in the county I live in which has a population close to 1 million.

All is well here. Same old same old, business as usual. The real question is how are you doing?
I've been traveling a lot. I'm in Taipei right now, but I still live in China.
You haven't had "shelter in place"? I get out daily with my dog.
No, we never had anything like that. I almost wish we did. I would love to finally get a seat on the MTR just once.

Are any of you Americans still alive? I saw that the death toll was 2,000. The next time I checked, it was at 14,000. I don't mean to cast aspersions, but I think you're doing it wrong.
We're #1 in the World NYC beat out China thats one state only. Very sad indeed. Stay safe!!
The saddest part is that it could have been prevented. Your country had plenty of warning. And now, it looks like enough people want to make it even worse.

Telling the deplorables that life is about love is like telling Cookie Monster to try some fruit every once in a while.

It could have been prevented if China didn't lie about it. https://referencedailynew.com/2020/04/china-govt-lied-about-coronavirus-putting-world-in-chaos-us-intelligence-agents-say/

That's not going to help you at all.

COVID-19 is now killing more Americans than typically die from cancer or heart disease. Tell me again why this isn't serious?

They are finally getting the antibody tests for people who have had COVID19. These people can donate plasma that contains the antibodies that got them better. They have been starting to use this antibody plasma to help people with COVID19 recover faster!

The story in that article is what the scientific world calls an anecdote. It's interesting, but does not prove cause and effect. Medical researchers joke that "the plural of anecdote is not data" -- meaning that interesting stories, even several of them, are not scientific evidence. The fact is we don't know yet how much protection COVID-19 antibodies give or how long it lasts. Here's a good explanation of antibodies and antibody testing from WebMD. Everyone hopes plasma infusions from recovered COVID patients will be an effective therapy, but until there are controlled trials we won't know.

We have started to slowly open up out this way. Today it was car washes, landscaping, more construction and golf courses. Saw on the news a bit ago that part of phase two will start on Friday, which will allow retail stores to open back up with crubside pick up only.

Oh yeah I'm aware of that Bruce, I'm just trying to find out if I had the virus myself in early January. My lungs felt like they were half filled with bubbling water and when I breathed in and out, it sounded like a Harmonica. I might go to the store a bit more often, if I have antibodies. I would donate plasma as well if I have the antibodies.
I am wanting them to do a trial on the anti paracitic drug Invermectin. It's already approved by the FDA and on the list of the WHO's drug list world-wide. It killed the virus in the lab in 24 hours. Hope they're testing that one.

I want to get one as well. I think I had it back in early March after travelling to and from my mom's memorial. I've been pretty sick before, but this was just something so different than anything else I've ever had. At the time there were still hardly any tests to go around so I wasn't sent for one.
I was reading earlier today that they've pulled some of the existing antibody tests because of the false/negatives they are giving. I can't find that article now though!

So sorry to hear about your Mom. My deepest condolences to you. That is a very tough loss and then to be stuck inside, it must be difficult for you.
I can relate to "this was just something so different than anything else I've ever had" I slept for 3 days straight. It was worse than Pneumonia even. I found a place that will give a test. Will have to check on what version they use.

This morning the idiot son of the Trump family (a position for which there is touch competition) said COVID-19 will "magically, all of a sudden go away" after the election.

What a moron! Well, folks, keep your fingers crossed for me. Tomorrow I'm calling my PCP because I've had this dry cough since Saturday morning. I've started taking Mucinex with an expectorant and cough suppressant, which has helped. (bought it back in March "just in case") I'll see if he wants to send me to the health department (right in the city I live) for a Covid-19 test. Don't have a fever or any other symptoms.

That's a worry for you although its far more likely to be a cold or hey fever or something like that. That's good that you're getting yourself checked out so fingers crossed, it will just be a cold virus you've picked up from somewhere. Sending you many well wishes from over the pond.
