Italian fans are very angry!

The sad thing is, if you get a voucher or you don't, the promoter still has your money! Only a refund is fair!
I agree with you.
I hope the state does a financial investigation to find out where the takings of pre-sale tickets are, which are high and I don't think they can disappear

Gianna, can you give us an update based on your opinion? Although a voucher will probably be useless to me, the deadline to request them is the 17th, which would be the 16th here in the US (Tuesday). Do you feel that the statement by Paul's team could influence a change to the voucher only refund?
Thanks for any guidance you can provide. I'm so far away that I feel helpless to make a change.
I would wait until the 16th, but, if you have doubts, ask for it. In my opinion, despite the deadline of 17, they will accept applications even later. But, if things go as we hope and repeal or amend the Decree, both vouchers and tickets will be refunded.
However, I will not ask for the voucher at all.
The only reson I might ask for the voucher is that I am afraid of getting nothing... but if refunds are then given and I only have vouchers it would be horrible
If it does happen.. when do you think the Decree will be repealed\amended?
As I said, in my opinion, they will accept the request for the voucher even after the 17th and in any case the law does not say that the request must be made in the manner established by Ticketone but it leaves us the choice.
The article 88 of “ Cura Italia,” as modified by the “Decreto Rilancio”, has not yet been converted and therefore still has a temporary character and we cannot yet know what will happen, because we don't know how the decree will be modified during the conversion, but we have good reason to trust that there will be a refund of both tickets and vouchers
thats good to know.... if i change my mind about the vouchers I might request at a later date... but I really dont want to ever give this promoter any buisness ever agagin, which people would be doing by even just using the voucher
In Italy we are all saying that we will never go to an event organized by these cheaters again
Thats great to hear, I hope they go out of business
I love Italy and cant wait to go back but I wont be spending this much money on a concert there again thats for sure ha

Thanks, gianna, I will follow you on this one and not bother to request a voucher now. At best, I could only try to sell it at a loss, and this would be difficult to do from the US anyway. Hopefully the Italian government will step in and correct this situation. It sounds like the fans in Italy are rallying for this and hopefully we will all benefit from your efforts. If there are any other petitions or emails I could sign or send, please post details and I'll be happy to participate.
I will send one more message to ticketone emphasizing I'm not applying for a voucher by the 17th since I can't use it anyway and still requesting a full refund to my credit card, etc. etc. etc.
Honestly, if Paul's concerts had been rescheduled to similar dates in 2021, I would be more accepting of a voucher. Even though I don't want to support a dishonest seller & promoter like these, I probably would in order to see Paul Next time for Italy, if there is one, I will buy VIP so I'm assured a full refund in case of cancellation.

I have not requested vouchers, as I want my money back. A real credit card refund.

I got that same reply today to the email I wrote last night. It's much different than the ones I received before, so feel this may be encouraging.

Although I am optimistic of a positive outcome I am not waiting any longer for some corrupt politicians and businessmen to do the right thing. I've started a fraud investigation with my credit card company and PayPal as well as initiating a claim through my travel insurance policy. I am determined to get back my 900 Euros back one way or another. Hopefully the end result is these shysters are out of business.

I also submitted a claim with my credit card bank, Paypal rejected my inquiry because I submitted it 1 day past the time deadline.

I just created a facebook group to talk about the voucher issue. You are invited to register in order to show that there are many foreigners who feel cheated by this system. Thank you!

The article adds nothing new to what has been said so far. We have to wait for the amendment or the repeal of the DL Rilancio and, as I have always argued, there is a good chance that this will happen especially after the minister's declaration. So let's wait confident.

We hope that if ( fingers crossed)there is an amendment, this will have retroactive effect so everyone will get a refund, even those who have requested and obtained the voucher.

Today's news
" Il fatto quotidiano", an italian newspaper, today writes that there is the government's ok to refund tickets in cash instead of vouchers and Parliament will now have to consider the amendments tabled on the matter.
"It seems that Paul McCartney's appeal really moved the waters within the government on the issue of vouchers and refunds, in case of canceled concerts. Following the cancellation of the concerts in Lucca and Naples due to the pandemic, the artist invited, even harshly, our country to refund fans in cash and not through the voucher system. The protests of buyers in fact, day after day, have become increasingly pressing, so much so that Codacons and associations in defense of consumers have also mobilized. The government, as reported by the AgCult agency and the president of Fimi (Italian Industrial Federation of Music) Enzo Mazza, has given a favorable opinion on the reimbursement in cash, should the concert be canceled. An important indication that gives a useful direction to the useful debate in Parliament on ad hoc amendments."

I heard from my bank today about the credit card dispute I started. They asked for some additional details then issued a temporary credit to my account. They will contact the merchant and if they don't get a response in 7 days, the credit will be applied. Who knows what will happen, but at least they've acknowledged the issue.
