NYC, NY - MSG - 12.12.12 Sandy Relief Benefit - ARCHIVE

After reading this thread......wonder if anyone really even remembers what the concert is all about
-
It's REALLY screwed up when scalpers make heaps of money over benefit gigs. There needs to be new laws made to stop these people.
-
Seating chart at thegarden.com under the Seating link at top of page. Then you can select concerts for type of seating chart.

Dec 12th Madison Square Garden.. relief concert he is one of several artists
With all of these great artists, was curious when McCartney will do his set in the show. I am sure their will be some grand finale with everyone.

Ouch...
Since I'm from an area also affected by Sandy (granted, not as much as NY and NY), filled with folks still recovering from Irene last year (VT was rather hard hit and a lot of people lost everything, and sadly some lost their lives), that remark is a bit offensive to say the least.

My guess is Ringo will make an appearance. Just my prediction. Isn't anyone concerned about the Hurricane Damage to the MSG? Yeah, I am sure with all that talent... Podgie (that the Roof is gonna be blown off) Monkey
Not out of the question. He has contributed to an album (live version of Wings) to raise funds for Sandy.

That's being discussed pretty hot and heavy on the 12/12/12 concert's FB page. It's disturbing to say the least that people scooped up tickets for a benefit show and then are marking up those tickets over three times their face value to make a profit.
I'm not sure if The Robin Hood Foundation has the ability to block the sale of those tickets on resale sites, but the articles I posted earlier pointed out that at least the foundation is getting 10% of the value of those sales. Still disgusting, though. Given how many people will be watching the concert (estimated 1 billion), I'm hoping that donations will be plentiful.

seating chart with seat numbers: http://www.lynch68.com/entertainment/seating/msgseatingchartlarge.gif ETA: The seating chart on Ticketmaster has the stage at the opposite end of the floor, and I would trust that chart over this one. When looking at this map, your section is #1 on the floor.
Hi...this link actually shows the new Madison Square Garden seating chart: http://www.thegarden.com/seating.html

Yeah, that's the one on Ticketmaster, but it didn't have the seat numbers. That's why I included the other one. Are you going too? Cool.

Impossible through Ticketmaster. Only way was Stub-Hub.
-
I just saw this notification on stub hub... StubHub will donate 100% of the profits from this event to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, helping those affected by Hurricane Sandy. They still have tickets available.

They have quite a few, which is ridiculous considering how quickly the tickets sold out, and how many folks, some affected by Sandy, wanted to go.
At least they're donating their fees, like Ticketmaster did, but still...immoral for folks to make money off of an event like this.

Not 100% of the ticket sale goes to Robin Hood--only Stub Hub's fee...the bulk of the ticket sale (around 90%) goes right back to the seller.

You shouldn't take things so personally....offensive, really? Oh brother.... If I did offend in anyway, I apologize but my post was not directed at anyone personally.
