LOOOOL, local coverage cutting out 07:00 sharp, in the middle of the highlight of the whole event.
Hulu pulled the plug on the show just as Macca had finished "Helter.." I freaked out and thankfully finished watching the show on YouTube's live stream.

Paul sounded and looked great.....personally, did not care for the set list (to each his/her own) Highlight of the night was definitely "Cut Me Some Slack".....love seeing Dave Grohl behind the drums Loooooved Billy Joel...thanks for the great performance. Another highlight for me personally was seeing my homeboys perform Born To Run together.....amazing! Thought it was an excellent show....still doesn't hold up to the 9/11 concert but loved it! My niece and nephew were there and were so excited...they were shown twice

thrillington:
so that was a Dave Grohl written song according to the Internet Paul sounded good, can still rock out at 70 --the negativity bunch on the net wont' like it but whatever Next song, I Got a Feeling with Paul's band. Incredible song selection. Maybe the new album is going to be a rocker
People just call it like it is....and he was effin GREAT!!!!!

nobodytoldme:
In top form on 'Helter Skelter', not straining nearly as much as normally on 'Live And Let Die', what is going on here? What a revenge.
Totally agree!!!!

Paul f****** killed it, yeah! I really think he must have been sick when he played the Olympics and the Jubilee this summer because I can't think of any reasons why he sounded SO much better last night. Loved the jeans and shirt too. A casual stage outfit like this makes him look a lot cooler than when he wears those suits, suspenders and Beatle boots and I would imagine it's more comfortable too. I'm very happy with the set list too and I really enjoyed this version of My Valentine with Paul on guitar. Well done, Paul!!!
YES!!!!!!! He did...and all the British rockers! Thank you all. What great bands!! Giving their time for a concert for the US. Hats off to you all...Mick's best line of the night...he hadn't seen so many aging British rockers in one place ever! Loved it all! Except for Kanye...really? And yes. Paul's outfit was very cool...made him look younger...but he still needs a haircut! LOL

He had a pretty good hair day, despite the length. There's little that I can quibble about. He nailed everything, really, but if I have to pick & peck, Paul still needs to get out of the habit of wearing "mom jeans." I loved the light color; he looked like a glowing prince last night. Just don't like the cut of jeans that he wears. That is literally the only thing I can complain about last night's set.

Literally just got home from the show--I've now been awake for 30 straight hours. I have some video and photos to post and will do that later tonight, but I just wanted to say that I thought Paul did well, with the highlight for me being the Nirvana/McCartney collaboration, which is going to be on the Dave Grohl-headed documentary "Sound City" which is set to be released in February. Studio recording of this song will be on the soundtrack. I agree about the setlist being a bit odd...not my first choices with some of those songs, but hey, he sounded better than he has in a bit, which I also thought of the St. Louis performance. Maybe he's finally seeing a vocal coach? What a night...

Glad you made it through the night wallie! Great show! Waiting for your vids & pics!

He has this strand of hair that was bothering him too...when he starts rockin & sweatin it kinda sticks to his forhead. No biggie but with a shorter moptop he'd really be fab!

Got home from this fantastic show around 4:30 this morning, so I'm still a bit "groggy". Still hard to believe all of those artists actually appeared on the same stage last night (and this morning). McCartney looked and sounded great. We saw him in St. Louis last month and I thought he sounded just as good last night! You can tell from the beginning that Paul's vocals were "on" with Helter Skelter...which I believe was a set opener for the first time. Highlights for me was the new song "Cut Me Some Slack" which he performed with Dave Grohl and friends, and "My Valentine" with Diana Krall on piano and Paul on acoustic. I thought Roger Waters and the Stones performances were also excellent, but the Stones were too brief with only 2 songs. A once in a lifetime event that will hopefully raise "tons of money" for Sandy victims!

Too bad Paul wasn't following Kanye, if you know-what-I-mean!
I'm pretty sure Ringo could follow Kanye and blow the roof off of MSG.
If Ringo DID turn up, it WOULD blow the roof off the MSG.
Honestly, I've been thinking he's gonna show up. It's pretty much all that can save the show after Kanye West really.
As I promised, I listened to his full show, Kanye's show... Why do I promise things? Again, hip hop lacks great composers/songwriters... Pop and rock and roll lack NEW great ones too, but that's another story ...
-
Adam Sandler.....what was that? Huge Sandler fan but that was just awful and Paul Shaffer, give it up
-
Just catching up now - saw the setlist on Twitter and thought it was bound to be fake! And did a little search this morning and saw some positive tweets re the voice which is always nice But Paul.... those jeans?

Kanye's lengthy set was like waiting for your name to be called at the doctor's office.

Came across this set-list for the whole show: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off the show with: Land of Hope and Dreams Wrecking Ball City of Ruins Jon Bon Jovi joined Springsteen and the band on "Born to Run" Roger Waters In the Flesh We Don't Need No Education Money." Us and Them Eddie Vedder helped Waters close out his set with "Comfortably Numb." Adam Sandler accompanied by Paul Schaffer on piano, updated Leonard Cohen's classic "Hallelujah" with the lyrics "Sandy, screw ya, we'll get through ya, because we're New Yawkers..." Kristen Stewart delighted the crowd by popping up to talk about New Jersey. Bon Jovi It's My Life Wanted Dead or Alive Who Says You Can't Go Home (with Bruce Springsteen) Livin' on a Prayer . Eric Clapton Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out Got to Get Better in a Little While (Derek and the Dominos song) Crossroads Rolling Stones You Got Me Rocking Jumpin' Jack Flash The Who Who Are You Bell Boy Pinball Wizard See Me, Feel Me Baba O'Riley Love, Reign O'er Me Tea & Theatre Kanye West "Jesus Walks," "All of the Lights" "Touch the Sky" Billy Joel Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway) Movin' Out (Anthony's Song) New York State of Mind with "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" The River of Dreams You May Be Right Only the Good Die Young Chris Martin and Michael Stipe "Losing My Religion" Sir Paul McCartney Helter Skelter (The Beatles song) Let Me Roll It (Wings song) Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five (Wings song) My Valentine (with Diana Krall) Blackbird (The Beatles song) Cut Me Some Slack (with Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic with a Nirvana reunion with Paul on lead vocals) I've Got a Feeling (The Beatles song) Live and Let Die (Wings song) Alicia Keys Empire State of Mind Martin
Chris Martin also did an acoustical version of Viva la Vida... and he also did a beautiful song on the piano called Us Against the World. I liked the comment that he made, that if everyone would just donate the average age of the rocker's there tonight, we would raise billions... Alicia Keys did another song, A Brand New Me with cell phones in the air
