Rusty has quite the CV!!! One thing though, "In 2001 Rusty jumped at the chance to play on Paul McCartney?s latest album, Driving Rain. Soon after the recording of the number 1 album," did we all miss Driving Rain hitting number 1!?

For anyone that missed it the first time round, here's an interview I did with Rusty last year! http://joshgill.wordpress.com/2011/03/08/an-interview-with-rusty-anderson/ Enjoy!
Go back a good couple of pages here and read my long interview I did with Rusty in 2009.

Where is Paul these days? How do you know where his tour is or how to get tickets? I liked it better getting notification of upcoming tours, etc. Because I need to know way ahead of time to plan and save for a concert ticket. Must be nice for those who just hop a plane and go anywhere Paul is , money's not an issue. That' not my case. gerpape

From wiki: "In November 2001, Driving Rain was released to generally strong reviews but stunned many with its very low sales, especially considering that McCartney's previous studio album of original material, Flaming Pie, was a Top 2 hit in both the US and the UK. Maybe due to the lack of a hit single to support it, Driving Rain peaked at #46 in the UK,[8] and became McCartney's lowest selling album in his homeland. The US reaction was a little stronger, though still underwhelming, with the album making #26 and going gold. Once again, there were no major US singles for McCartney and his new album." You have to take Wikipedia with a grain of salt. I'm fairly certain that Press To Play is Paul's worst-selling album of new songs in the UK, not Driving Rain.

An interview with Richie Sambora (about whom I first heard when I read that he was recording with Rusty ) and he mentiones Rusty in it: http://www.americansongwriter.com/2012/08/learning-to-fly-a-qa-with-richie-sambora/ Who will you have on the road with you? The same band that played on the album? Yeah, my same guys. I?ve got my guys! We had such a good time making this record that I was able to convince them to come out with me. Except for Rusty [Anderson], my guitar understudy, who?s not going to be able to make it out. But I did get David Ryan Harris, who?s John Mayer?s guitar player. I have Matt Rollins on keyboards; he?s an amazing guy out of Nashville who?s also played with Dire Straits. Aaron Sterling on drums, who?s John Mayer alumni also, and Curt Schneider on bass, who?s worked with people like Sting. He?s also a producer. So I have my guys. We?re gonna have a blast, man. So we can be relieved that Rusty isn't gonna tour with anyone else but Paul (and prolly continue to do solo gigs at times with his own band)! Not that I thought for a minute that he would go on tour with this Sambora...

Understudy huh? : I think not! Just for that Sambora: Nevertheless great news

Yes, the word "understudy" bothered me too. :

Surely it is Sambora who studied under Rusty he just must be confused how to say it

Jena, you are so lucky that Paul and Rusty are heading your way! I am hoping for the usual Christmas gigs.
-
I still can't believe it myself! the best part last time was being close enough to really watch Rusty play. All that power and control at the same time woof
