I agree with your premise to a certain degree...we multi tour veterans have probably collectively heard well over a 100 different songs live from Paul over the years...but I think the bigger complaint is that many of the variations involve Beatle numbers and he seems to disregard to some extent his post Beatles catalog to the point of playing only a few obvious giant hits (and not even all of those) and a handful of 'bones' thrown at hard core fans...I will say there seems to have been some effort in very recent years to cater a bit more to Wiings fans....but his post Wings career is still almost entirely ignored...not including songs from albums he was currently supporting on given tours, the only post Wings songs that appeared in a set list for any extended period of time included Ebony and Ivory (1989...but was eventually dropped due to what Paul perceived to be negative reviews), and in more recent years, Here Today, Flaming Pie and Calico Sky (I recognize that he very temporarily brought back Hope of Deliverance a couple of years ago, and that he performed one singled time Cosmically Conscious...but these were not regular inclusions) Btw, no nit picking intended, but I think you meant 1989 and not 1988 for the Flowers in the Dirt tour

I think it might have been 1990 in London

I agree totally. I will add I never understood why he totally ignored a song like "Take It Away" that was a top 20 single off TOW. I know I would not mind hearing songs from FITD live again, after all it has been almost 25 years since they were played live - lol.

Yes, the London and Birmingham gigs were January 1990.
and thanks for taking the time to share your list, esp. for those of us who are frightfully disorganized!

That's a pretty spot on graphic, I'd say. But Paul gives the people what they want.

Why doesn't he try it the other way around & see if people still want it. I think they may just enjoy themselves.

Great post. It boggles my mind that he has never played something like "Take It Away" from TOW for example. Wouldn't it be nice to hear something from FITD again, it has been around 25 yrs. I have always loved "That Was Me" from MAF and still think it would be cool opener. There are countless other examples but think everyone understands what I mean. I am glad he will do songs from "New" but like Rich said it is only because it is the current record he is trying to promote.

Hola gorgeous
Paul doesn't want the audience to take toilet breaks while he sings his not so popular songs.

I don't know...I recall watching half of Boston's TD Garden (Fleet Center) become half empty when Paul and band broke into Lonely Road, which I was only more than happy to sit/stand and listen

I've said this before. He neds to advertize his shows, especially when it's a 2 nighter, as one anything goes & one as a solo song show. Then the Beatle people that don't know Paul can have a show & the rest of us can have 2 shows!

I thought that McCartney/Beatles fans were more intelligent than that -- above the fray. Oh, well.

Me too - and I felt bad because my sight line was such (balcony near the rear of the arena) that I could see Paul's face straight on as well as the entire floor section in front of him...and I should clarify, that's what I saw half empty out...And I thought that was a pretty good concert song...So while I have no way of knowing for sure, I can't believe that Paul didn't notice that... But I think Oobu has a point where if it were advertised as a true career spanning show (and the set list became somewhat known), I believe that would work for him as well...but overall, I still think it's too bad he skips over such a huge (and creative) part of his career...even if he didn't alter the percentage too much and just added a couple of later solo songs besides the small handful I mentioned before, I think he could still make everyone happy

Here is a cool website to go to for set lists for all (or many/most) shows you have been to. It is fun to go back and relive these set lists and try to remember the nights. I have a good time trying to remember all of the songs in order, what the crowd was like, any jokes or audience interactions before or after the songs, etc.. Here for example is the Paul set list from dc last summer: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/paul-mccartney/2013/nationals-park-washington-dc-7bd956d4.html
