Well, I can definitely agree with ya' on that Cordoba pro-shot sampler. Ouch.
Where is this??
nobodytoldme:
I would be surprised if there will be a lot of pro-shot material from this tour indeed: http://www.cbc.ca/player/play/2687212728/

What about "pro-audio"? Is there any good recording of the new additions on this tour?
The recording of the first night of Vancouver is great.
Can you please post a link? Thanks!
Don't think that's appreciated over here. Google what you think you should Google and add "FLAC/AUD".
I've sent you a pm

No problem! I still got the idea. Wow!

Sounds like he's in awful form in Cordoba. And by some accounts the audience is bored stiff.
Check my post on the Cordoba concert thread, which I've attended last night.

What happened to the Paul McCartney who refused to play Beatles songs on his 1972 UK Tour? The real fans want that live Paul back. Instead, he looks like Elton up there on stage rehashing the past singing the oldies...

That bloke is long gone. This one is touring a Vegas lounge act. And he'll keep doingit until his voice is a whisper.

Dont' hate me, I love the man, but the setlist is a bit of a snoozer. I dont know why he has these rules it seems where he wont change things up a bit. Maybe I'm in the minority but I dont like the NEW album with the exception of a couple of songs. Definitely his weakest output IMHO since Off the Ground. But I understand he needs to promote it. Here's what I'd like to see: Eight Days a Week -Doesnt sound right without John. I Saw Her Standing There would be a perfect opener Save Us -Awful, but it aint going anywhere. All My Loving -Beaten to death, but acceptable Listen to What the Man Said -ZZZZZZZ- replace with Silly Love Songs Let Me Roll It/Foxy Lady -Needs to go bye bye. How about the forgotten Cant Buy Me Love?!?!? Paperback Writer -Adios. Bring back Jet My Valentine -ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ- Anything but thos Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five -KEEP! The Long And Winding Road -ZZZZZZZZZZZZ- How about C'moon or Let em In, even. Maybe I'm Amazed -He's had trouble with this since 89. How about Hold Me Tight?? I've Just Seen a Face -Ok, but I'd prefer Hop of Deliverance We Can Work It Out-Ok Another Day -OK And I Love Her -Meh. How about Mother Natures son or Rocky Racoon Blackbird -Keep Here Today -Adios! NO MORE TRIBUTES! Put It There would be great! New -Keep Queenie Eye -Not my fave, but it aint going anywhere Lady Madonna -C ya. You Never Give ME Your $$ would be better All Together Now -Sayonara- Bring back Getting Better Lovely Rita --Fair at best Everybody Out There -Keep Eleanor Rigby -Time to dump it. Ever Present Past shoud take its spot! One After 909 -Nope. Two of US would be better Something -Sorry Georgie, but its gotta go. Replace with Follow Me Obladi Oblada -OK Band on the Run -OK Back in the U.S.S.R. -OK Let It Be -OK Live and Let Die -OK Hey Jude -duh Day Tripper. -OK Hi Hi Hi -OK -two girls on stage- Get Back -NO!! Throw a curve and stick in Lonely Road from the UNDERappreciated Driving Rain Yesterday. -OK Helter Skelter -Doesnt sound good live. Bring back Pepper Golden/Carry/The End-Cool What do you think. It would still be a VERY hit friendly show! Oh yeah, replace Mr Kite with Penny Lane.
After more than two years and many posts, I will submit my final one of this subject. All the wishing and hoping is over and unfortunately many wonderful songs from 1982 to the present will never be heard live. I will remember fondly tours like 1989 when Mr. McCartney showcased six songs from his latest CD at the time called "Flowers In The Dirt". He even opened with "Figure of Eight" and stated in interview that it was done because he wanted to show the world he was still a relevant artist. Sadly, that type of attitude disappeared as we entered the new century. I can only guess as to why his concerts started to become more of an oldies show year by year. Maybe it was the death of Linda, maybe it was just he just enjoyed playing Beatle songs, maybe his ego needed to be stroked after every song or maybe it was all about money.

I think you nailed it with your last sentence.

Speaks volumes that so far what's generated the most buzz was the one off Let's Go Crazy surprise. If he even did the following, it would engender so much more genuine intetest and buzz... Remove Save Us and replace it with Junior's Farm. Scrap Here, There and Everywhere, Fool On The Hill and Maybe I'm Amazed, all of which he cannot sing, and replace them with Wings or Solo. In the back end rotate songs through the Back In The USSR slot. These are not impossible to do. I say again, too much same from the last tour and even the new additions are pretty pedestrian. In Spite Of All The Danger again? I mean...seriously, come on. That's either seriouslylazy or he's taking the piss.

Mmmm...once was enough and that's what makes those little outings so special. A short burst (that's all there is) of Thinking of Linking might be less painful. Btw...I know you're kidding!

There aren't enough real fans to fill baseball stadiums anymore. 85% of the people attending his shows WANT a Beatles nostalgia act. A few Wings/early solo hits are fine, but anything past 1980 or so loses them. I don't like it, but that's reality.

You are correct.

The task at hand is to make 'em appreciate the more obscure songs. Clapton does that. Prince did it. Tina Turner almost always closed her concerts with a new song from her latest album at the time, which always went over well. Therefore, are we supposed to accept a false notion that Paul McCartney's audiences are, comparatively, less musically intelligent? Not this fan.

We need a "Pure Mccartney tour" To listen fresh song instead of Let it be-Let me roll it, etc etc Also an Unplugged II would be cool. The mtv unplugged was a very amazing setlist.

Paul needs to give his voice a rest before doing ANY of these things he is not going to do.
