While I agree it'd be great to hear more of Paul's solo/Wings songs - you have to remember it's his show, his career, he's playing what he wants to play. There's another thing no one has mentioned -- he's soon to be 74, and surely thinking about his own mortality. He's probably reminiscing about his life in general, and it seems like he's always taken great joy/pride in "The Beatles", more than the other three - maybe that is part of the reason he's doing more of those songs nowadays. I'm just glad he's still touring, happy to see him.
-
He's likely to live another 20-25 years. He can spend the last five or so reflecting on his old band then. Good grief -- wasn't all the hoopla over the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' U.S. visit enough??? Can it get better than that? Enough already. With the little voice that he has left, he needs to do his solo brand a little more justice.

oh yeah? and you know this how, exactly?! Agree to disagree - sure I"d love to hear every song he's ever written in concert. But he'd have to take up residence in my town!! (or marry me and constantly serenade!) I'm happy with whatever he chooses, he's only human. Can't please everybody.

It's called being optimistic, honey.
-
Yes dear. I am more of a realist myself.

Hooray for you. My standards are higher. And I don't settle.
-
You know, audi, it isn't that you have higher standards or are better than me or anyone else who has an opinion on these message boards. That is really insulting. NO need for it.

This is rock & roll. Not much room for the social graces 'round here. I hear the Osmonds have a rather lively discussion forum. Hint, hint.

cute.

Correction: Stunningly handsome. Animals are cute.

"You know, audi, it isn't that you have higher standards " IMO - Audi holds Mr. McCartney to a higher standard than many people who for the most part are just happy to see a Beatle show. Yes, he thinks the Beatle songs are good, but also believes that Mr. McCartney has had quite an impressive song catalog since 1980. I join Audi and others who wish we would have heard more of it but understand it is just not going to happen.

You guys need to feel superior to people you don't know, on an internet message board, far be it from me to rain on your parade. Interesting I get no response to what I said,, that he's facing his own mortality, that may explain some things; and as far as I'm concerned, he can do what pleases him. Just the way I feel - doesn't make me "inferior" to anyone, as a "fan" or as a person.
-
Actually, I did address it. However, you were too busy shooting down my optimism; therefore, the point eluded you.
-
Who ever said Paul can't do whatever he pleases?? Clearly he can and does. That doesn't mean we all have to leap up and respond and say it's amazing.

I am not superior to anyone on this board, just have a different opinion than others. Mr. McCartney has been playing a mostly Beatle show for close to 15 yrs. I truly doubt he was facing his mortality that far back but who knows - lol.

Can't forget 1989 through 1993.

It's the best theory I've heard.

Ah...complacency. How lovely.

Well, there's a possibility that I guess many don't even like to be imagined as a joke. But if Paul goes all about the Beatles... Do you know what "Queen+Paul Rodgers" or "Queen+Adam Lambert" is?. Paul and Ringo could do it with say Clapton and Julian Lennon, u know and do a tour like The Beatles+Clapton. It CAN happen.
