Colbert Report: Exclusive - Paul McCartney - "Birthday"

I was one of the lucky ones to be at the Colbert Report taping. Got the ticket two days before, booked flight that night and flew in next morning. Here's the setlist as he performed it (it seems a couple songs didn't air and those that did aired in different order). Colbert Setlist Matchbox Let Me Roll It Listen to What The Man Said Letting Go I've Just Seen A Face - Paul stopped the song after a few seconds to redo the intro Hi Hi Hi Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite Lady Madonna Birthday

I had no idea that Sir Paul & band played more songs than what was broadcast (mixed a bit too - to boot). Bet it was great to be there in such a small (by comparison) venue Thanks for sharing

That would have been very cool to see!

Thanks for the info. Were all these songs performed in a row, like a mini-concert? By the way, was Paul interviewed before or after his live performance?
-
What happened is that they recorded the funny bits with just Stephen first, then they did the interview and at the end they did all the songs in a row. It's one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced

So how long was the whole program (from the audience view)?
-
It took about an hour and a half

Wow - that seems quick to pull it all off along with the extra songs not broadcast

It's incredible how well prepared they are. Everything was very well timed and prepared. Also, they had already rehearsed (Paul had arrived at the studio about 3 hours before the show).
