RE: New Paul Merchandise Store - Vintage Tees!
Count me as another who would snap up the "Back to the Egg" shirt if it was available in a men's design. I was also hoping for the elusive yellow "Wings Over America" shirt. Maybe it will be added.

RE: Wings Over America & Rock Show DVD Reissue CONFIRMED

BTW, anyone know if Bluray is really worth upgrading to?
I say no. the discs are overpriced ($60 is typical where a DVD is $15-20). Plus, what really turned me off is that the disc have security features that make them unplayable until you log online and turn them off. this can happen in the middle of a movie. It happened last Christmas when my family watched Avatar. We got to see the unaired teaser, then once it got to the part of the movie we already knew, the disc went wonky. It was a security feature and the gear heads in the house couldn't figure how to turn it off. That turned me off. Goodbye, Blue Ray. I'll come back when you actually play.
In general, I say yes. Far superior picture and sound quality. That price difference quoted above is very inaccurate. Blu Ray is usually only $5 to $10 more than dvd, and most theatrical movies (though not concert videos) come with a dvd also packaged with the blu ray. I have been watching blu ray for over 4 years now, and I have never run into any security or technical issue such as the one described above.

RE: Boston, MA - Fenway Park - July 9, 2013 - ARCHIVE

Question for those who have pulled up close tickets this morning.. Have any of you scored seats in sections A3, A4, A5 without selecting a special package? Just regular seating? I wanted to log in at 10 to see what would come up, but couldn't get pulled away from my work. I won't be going to the Boston show, but just looking to see how seats are pulling up assuming that the same trends will follow in other US cities! Thanks guys!
Yes, I got 2 seats in Section A4, Row 18 through this website's presale....total of about $550 after all the fees, etc. I was shocked. Get on right away and you could have a chance at great seats.

RE: NYC, NY - MSG - 12.12.12 Sandy Relief Benefit - ARCHIVE
beatlesfanrandy:
Maybe it has something to do with downloads or iTunes. But we're missing the big picture. This is about the charity to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy, not about the downloads. There will be a CD and a DVD of the concert, you can be sure.
I can't imagine the cd will have more songs than the download. I'm all for helping charity, and you'd think in order to help, they would want to put the best tracklisting possible. That didn't happen. So either Paul or the record company dropped the ball big time.

RE: NYC, NY - MSG - 12.12.12 Sandy Relief Benefit - ARCHIVE
It's so inexplicable and seemingly counterproductive that it almost makes me think it was Paul's choice. Why would they purposely hurt sales by leaving off songs like "Blackbird", "I've got a Feeling", "Live and Let Die" and "Cut me some slack"? Anybody here got any inside connections they can ask? Would be nice to know whether to direct our complaints at the record company or at Paul.

RE: A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com
Kathryn O:
What I'm confused about is getting two e-mails. One describing the new website with mention of the memberships being done away with and us getting some form of compensation such as a download of Live Kisses (where we've already had issues with before. Four audio songs?) and then I get a second e-mail later the same day that does not mention the gone memberships and compensation. So, are we getting our stuff or not? Which one do I pay attention to?
For a while now, when they sent out email updates, I've gotten two emails...one that said premium and one that did not. Usually the emails have been identical. Apparently they have premium members set up on both a premium email list and the regular email list, so we've been getting duplicates. I think in this case we can just pay attention to the premium and ignore the duplicate that does not mention free download.

Can anyone post the actual wording of what we were to receive with premium membership? I can't find it anywhere. I'd like to see how it reads.

RE: A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com
I found myself being very confused by the email I got about the website, then getting upset, but I think I need to step back, not make assumptions, and ask a few questions. Maybe an admin can answer. I'll also leave my opinions about what I'd like to see. 1. The email does not say that premium memberships are going away, it only says they will not feature on the new website. Have the premium memberships in fact ended or not? Or do they continue, just not with a website component? 2. If they have ended, will those who just joined recently receive a refund? 3. While I feel that I have not received $60 worth of value since I joined almost a year ago, I think I need to wait until we see what the final package of "goodies" will be before I make a final decision on getting my money's worth. I didn't care for the ugly t-shirt we received upon joining. A nice "Wings Over America" and/or "Ram" t shirt would go along toward me feeling that I got my money's worth. 4. I didn't really care too much for the premium content while it existed. I did enjoy a few of the pictures and videos, but I rarely found myself coming back to look at things. I never used the Rude Studio. I used the juke box a few times at work, but it always got disconnected while playing, so I eventually gave up on it. 5. What would I like to see from the new, non-premium website: As others have mentioned, make the "news" component more useful. Most of the "news" is not actually news, and hardcore fans know about all of the real "news" before it gets posted by Paul's own site. Give us updates on the supposed new album in the works and any other projects Paul may be working on. Give us accurate discography and other historical details on tours, etc. Make this site THE place to come to get such info. Give us occasional treats, such as unreleased songs or concert videos. How about selling audio of past concerts? I would love to own audio of the two concerts I have seen in Boston and would pay to have them. The Who, Peter Gabriel, Allman Brothers and many others make this service available. Some of the old photos that were posted were great, and I'd love to see more of them on the new site. 6. What happened to HP. Are they no longer involved? 7. Not related to the website, but please give us an update on the remaster series. One to two albums a year is not going to get this project done in most of our lifetimes. When should we expect the other three we have been promised? How many will we get in the "super deluxe" format? 8. The redeem download page for the hi-res versions of files from the first 4 deluxe archive sets no longer exists. I have yet to download the last 2 I bought. When will this be coming back? Thanks for listening.
