http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/may12/articles/mccartney.htm At least one more original was recorded [in the "Kisses" sessions] but eventually not used, as LiPuma mentions: "I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually re-records 'If I Take You Home Tonight', which is another relatively new composition. It's a good song but it was still being developed and I wasn't sure if it would fit stylistically with everything else we had done.? == If Paul never does a finished version, hopefully his demo will find its way out someday...

RE: Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors
RMartinez:
Well, McCartney LIVES in England, and his offices are based there, so I would hope they have not forgotten about the UK. Still, that has not translated into shows for them in recent years.
Technically, he is splitting time between the US and England, and MPL has dual headquarters in both London and New York. Strictly guessing, a UK run is likely this year...

RE: Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors
I would guess the "Out There" name is probably done. Look at the recent track record: Up and Coming Tour 28 March 2010-10 June 2011 42 shows On the Run Tour 15 July 2011 29 November 2012 37 shows Out There! Tour 4 May 2013-26 November 2014 59 shows I would guess a bit of change to the set list is in order, but maximum 4-5 songs, and most of the "New" material should stick until his next studio release. Time to guess the name I'd like to see him keep it simple: "Paul McCartney - APPRECIATE!" Ultimately though, Paul does WHAT he wants, WHEN he wants, and the tour name is mostly about selling new T-shirts and merch than anything to do with what's on stage or how it is presented.

Didn't stay around for the limo watch because it poured rain but we did hear it go by from our hotel room. Ran to the balcony and saw the last of the police cars turn the corner. Almost ..... LOL
Apparently there was some confusion -- the fans were all on the driver's side, so when Paul rolled down his window, he was waving to an empty space

Here are my photos from the show.... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10203902591438142&type=1&l=ef2e051cd6 "Birthday" was a nice surprise, as was the NOLA specific song intros.

How long does this shortened setlist take? Did they sell soundcheck tickets?
He said being in the theatre he felt like he should be reciting Shakespeare. Crowd egged him on, he said "it's tempting," and then begin to recite "oh if this too, too solid flesh should melt" and then something else which I personally could not hear due to people in the crowd yelling. No tattoos.
No "ZAP!"?
Glad you all enjoyed it. I'm also glad I didn't go -- not because it wasn't a great show, but the combination of a *shortened* performance and the extra expense would've left me a little bummed, particularly with New Orleans around the corner... [/url] -

Still wondering if there's anything going on before or after. Will be flying in in the early afternoon, and not leaving until Sunday AM...

On "the Best of the Beatles" radio show yesterday, Richard Turner said bc of the prices, there are still good seats down front center available!! and that there are still cheaper seats available too! It's gonna be great! I heard they're gonna jumbotron it on the side of the building so everyone can enjoy it!
There are STILL seats available for this show??? This venue only seats about 1,800 people.
The assorted singles down front are $3000 - $3500. The other lower level seats are $1500 - $2500. Everything sub-$1500 is gone, and has been for quite awhile.

THANKS!! I'm dead center in the clip, right at the end . This is a nice toy, and even at relatively low resolution, it gives a very good "feel" for the environment that stills or video cannot capture. Since we were in proximity, this really is just about what it felt like in those seats!

RE: Paul McCartney sign question
kitty55d:
Bob, I have no problem with your height and standing at the shows, indeed you are blessed! I do have a problem with missing so much especially after paying so much to sit in the 4th row (my only soundcheck ever). I wasn't sitting behind you, but others held up their own signs in addition to the "group" signs (don't forget Shelley signs during SF Bay Blues). So I missed most of New (which I never saw live before), the whole last verse of BOTR, final minutes of Paul introducing the band, and random other times. In addition the lady behind me kept bugging me to ask those in front to stop it. I didn't want a confrontation to ruin the show for me so I said nothing. Please mention this to your group for the future enjoyment of fans sitting in the row behind you guys.
I'm the one who was behind Mr. Gannon. I'm not a tiny fellow (over 6-foot myself), but I did have to constantly move left or right to see anything, and considering the close quarters, it did get a little frustrating for both myself and the persons on either side of me. However, as I said in my previous post, luck (or not) of the draw. It should also be noted that the folks in row 5 behind me (and I acknowledge I might have been part of the problem for them) chose to move to worse seats midway through the show. I can also confirm that people in the next 3-5 rows (some more vehemently than others) were complaining about the signs.
-
RE: Paul McCartney sign question
Try the fourth row, and not only being behind the signs, but also behind the tallest of the FOTR (6-5+?)! Despite that luck of the draw, it was still pretty joyful, an incredible experience, and vastly different from anywhere else at a show (I've been front row to the right and third row to the left at other shows, and neither compared to the center section, sightline or sound mix)...

I wonder what the odds are of something special being added. I'd be there in a second, but I'm already doing three shows this tour, including one soundcheck package...
