I was told it's all solo Paul, written performed and produced, for what it's worth.

what's the album cover going around look like ? thanks for info ! that might or might not be the cover to Paul's upcoming new album
Note: I feel the need to point out this artwork has no connection to my report about Mc3.
If people think it looks fake/unbelievable, I would wholeheartedly agree. But I have no information on album art...
haha...a disclaimer! We were talking about covers that were going around on the internet. That is what I posted. It is not an official cover. I went back to edit that post but could not. This ridiculous site will only let you edit for an hour after the post has been made.
Oh, I know. You're fine, oobu! I just didn't want people thinking "that cover looks fake, so the story must be BS." There's no connection, other than that someone was probably INSPIRED by the story to do a mock-up of an album cover.
A couple more folks at Hoffman have now gone "on the record" confirming the album today.

No offense, but what are your sources, eric from boise, and how were you told ? Are your sources impeccable ? how is it that you found out? I tried to get on Hoffman's music forum, but for some reason was unable to access it this time, although I have, in the past. I tried several times this time. Will keep on trying.
Thanks for info.
I don't see why Yankeefan "hated" McCartney 2; although of course music taste is subjective, mainly. Not all its songs are "weird" or unusual.
Simply put Suzy, I am not a fan of synth pop/electronica music which is the essence of "McCartney II". The only song of McCartney's that I dislike more than "Bip Bop" (lol) is "Temporary Secretary" which just grates on my last nerve listening to it. While others love "Coming Up", I find it repetitive and annoying. The only song on "McCartney II" that I enjoy is "Waterfalls". As you said music taste is subjective, to each their own -lol
You don't even like One Of These Days? That's a pretty straightforward ballad, IMO...

Hey Suzy,
I wrote a lengthy post over there explaining everything; I'll just link it here:
Tried to anticipate all the questions I'd get and answer them best as I could.

^ Of course. The time to get excited is AFTER an official announcement but we can all speculate until then. Looks like Eric, you have ben chosen to be the spokesperson for this one. lol
I don't accept that role!
I got a tip that seemed unbelievable to me but, after vetting it to the best of my abilities, I was convinced. I then published just PART of what I'd been told, to see if anyone could confirm it. It took a couple weeks, but yesterday two separate Hoffman-ites both managed to tell me exactly what I'd been told, and at that point it seems fair to tell all, rather than sit on it.
50 years after 1, and 40 years after 2, I believe it's time to count to 3!

Yay!! So looking forward to new McCartney material. I thought I had seen a picture of him with Nuno and it looked like they were playing a song together, I'm then imagining there will be other musicians as well from that picture. I've always wished he would play with Chris Martin too!
Nope. Let's just say Paul's recording methods were a model of "social distancing" for this project!
This is going to be interesting... can't wait! Any ideas on a title or any song info?
No song info, but take a look at the other topic near the top of the board right now. Ought to tell you everything you need to know!

I cheers to you tonite, friendo!
Two weeks ago, when I first heard the news - even though the source sounded impeccable - I was still a wee bit skeptical. But when I got two different sources confirming that info within an hour of each other this morning, any doubts vanished.
I think we'll hear official confirmation in a month or so. I don't hang around a lot here (I find the aesthetics of this discussion board obnoxious), but I'm frequently on the Hoffman board, if you know what that is. My avatar is identical there.

I'm not forgetting this E.I.B. Everything is crossed!
Egypt Station is cracking good, and an important Macca album to me amongst many important Macca albums in my life. I find it as weird (F.Y., B.2.B, She's A Rock) and wonderful (I Don'T Know, H.I.H., D.I.N.) as anything else in his catalogue.
"The charts" are a flippin' joke. Fat Cats pay top dollar to show they "won," and I'm not in anyway talking about our Paul here.
And I am more than bought and sold for "McCartney 3!"Give me full white-haired mad-scientist lab coat Paul banging pans and making voices, PLEASE! This man deserves to reflect as weird as our current times are.
Go Ape Paul! We got Sweet Bananas!
I came here wanting to share my news, and your initial post in this thread was so on-target, it seemed the best one to respond to.
I'm just as excited as you are! Don't know if we'll get "mad scientist" Paul or Grandpa Paul, strumming his acoustic, but I'm genuinely stunned we'll be getting an album at all (for some crazy reason, I thought Egypt might be his final solo album - I'm thrilled to be WRONG!).

RE: New album in December?
Just that, really! I got tipped off to this a couple weeks ago and posted on the Hoffman board (my usual spot), but didn't state any details - just that I'd heard a new album was done. I wanted someone else to confirm it either privately or publicly before I made a potential fool of myself.
But within the space of an hour this morning I got two separate confirmations.
So I wanted to make a trip here to share the news.

Yup. I started it a couple weeks ago, but got (multiple) confirmations today! "Let the party begin" as a wise man once said!
Having seen your comments here and there, I don't think you'll be thrilled with the concept, tho!
What's the concept Eric?
Note the other thread that's at the top of the list, Nancy. I think it'll make most fans happy, but I noted Bruce M's comment on the first page when I was bumping it, and realized not everyone will necessarily be overjoyed...

As the whole world has been on pause, I think it's the perfect time for creative people to get creative. I wonder if Paul is in his studio messing about and making music for his own pleasure. It would be amazing if he made a McCartney 3 during this time.
You're about to get your wish!

IMO - that is a pretty cool cover !!!
FAKE - according to someone in the know...
Would you want all those pins packed w/your lp???
Who said you get them in the same pkg? Maybe it is a separate item.
Regardless, the guy who labeled it FAKE has been way ahead of the game on official news for years. I have no doubts.
He does mention there will be numerous variations in vinyl releases, but that isn’t one of them...
Where are you seeing this (if it’s posted somewhere online)?
The Hoffman forum. I've been a member here for some time, but don't post here very often, due to this site's cumbersome (user-UNfriendly) nature. Besides there are a zillion McCartney/Beatle experts there. I know my stuff better than 99% of hardcore fans and there are people there who know wayyyy more than me over there. Check it out, if you haven't before.
Here's the specific post (and user) that labeled it fake:
That guy has been the first to tease about MANY Beatle-related items for the last several years. He hinted about the Christmas records reissue; McCartney vinyl reissues; the forthcoming White album set, etc...

Wonder if the Beyonce/Mush Mouth (Jay-Z) secret album slowed down the time frame for Paul?
Yeah, was wondering that too. If he wants a #1, you would have to delay. Could still release a single now though.
He can’t possibly hit #1, with the chart rules as they are in Billboard. He can’t compete with streaming numbers for younger acts, and that’s a key component in Billboards charting formula. Look at the Sgt Pepper example from last year for proof.
Don't forget the album promised with ticket purchases from last year's tour. They will count as units sold I believe.
Nope, it’s not that simple.
“For a bundled album to be eligible for the Billboard 200, the ticket purchaser has to download or redeem it...About 20 percent to 30 percent of fans tend to redeem their album offers, with most favoring CDs or vinyl over downloads, though nudges on email and social media can drive better results.” - Billboard
I think the CDs were promised to be mailed hence counting as physical units. I think BON JOVI did it the same way for his last tour and scored a #1. We shall see
But again, consumers have to “opt in” for that, and as reported above, only 20-30% even bother to do that. Factor in that many fans were oblivious of the offer last summer and it just might not be as big a sales boost as you expect. And again, check the Sgt. Pepper example: #1 SELLING album in first week back on US charts, but a distant third place once streaming was factored in.
