RE: Memphis, Tennessee, May 26th, FedEx Forum - ARCHIVE
Before the concert I was at the Westin bar/restaurant. Brian Ray came in and I got his autograph. He was very gracious and I said I was sorry for interruping him and he said it was no problem. I also saw Abe and Rusty getting into the bus. Missed Paul's arrival at the venue by about 15 or 20 minutes. Got to meet Fletch and Cindy and a bunch of other people. Hi, guys. It was fun waiting in front of the Westin with you. The pre-concert band was great. I talked to the drummer who also drums for Jerry Lee Lewis. Too bad they don't have a CD out because I would have bought it. They didn't have as many tee-shrit choices at this concert but I got my goodies without a very long line at all. I already wrote about the concert. It is so magical to be at a Paul concert. If anyone is on the fence about going-go. You will not regret it.

Great concert, as always. It looked like they used more laser lights. Also used more pryo. with LALD. Usually I sit closer but to the side. Last night I was further back but in the center. I could see the screen behind the band much better. Enjoyable. Saw the whole stage all at once. Got home late tonight and have to get up early tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to write more, maybe not until Wed. (If anyone is still interested and not just focusing on Tulsa. LOL).

Picked up a local free paper called the Memphis Flyer. It had 3 different ads for Paul' s concert with 3 different pictures. Cool find.

On the road from the airport into Memphis we saw two billboard. One had the Out There picture and words and the other one said "Welcome Sir Paul". So neat to see them.

We got to Memphis yesterday evening. Walked around Beale Street. Today we went to Sun Studios and Graceland. Staying near the FedExForum so ate and walked around Beale Street again. Having a great time so far.

Went to the bank for extra cash because there is so much merchandise that I want. The stomach butterflies are starting at the thought that I'll soon be seeing Paul - Live - In Person!!!

I just looked at the FedEx website and it shows a game on Saturday, May 25th. That doesn't leave much time for setting up an elaborate stage. Perhaps Memphis will eliminate the platform....

Please tell us what the banter is like. Mostly the same as previous concerts?

RE: New Stage Design
Ticketmaster had an interactive seating chart for Memphis up for a short time. It was different than the seating chart during the pre-sale. I bought an aisle seat on purpose because I'm short. That way I can stand a little (or all the way if the usher is nice) in the aisle and be able to see. If the first five rows have no aisle between the sections then that "gap" is not there and I won't be able to see. Plus that wall in front looks kind of high. Would a 5 foot tall person be able to see over it????

Tiggy, I'll miss being with you at a Paul concert. Yes, great memories. We are going to Memphis. Wish I was going to DC as well. Be sure and tell us all about it.

Looking forward to hearing all about it. No detail is too small to share with us.

This interactive map on Ticketmaster for Memphis sure is different than what they showed during the pre-sale. There is a platform sticking out from the center of the stage. And the first five rows have no aisle in between the Sections.

The Metro is within walking distance of the stadium. Highly recommend using it. But, it will be crowded after the concert with everyone trying to get home all at the same time. The Metro runs until 300 AM on Friday nites so I'd suggest taking ones time and get to the Metro at a very slow pace to get home. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. re seats on sale now. Ticketmaster had told me I could exchange tix up until one week before the concert so I bought tix further back than I wanted. I was hoping to upgrade. Saw better tix today but now TM just told me I can not exchange. Grrr. Well, I am looking forward to a great concert and my current tix are on the aisle so short me will be able to see. LOL.

When I'm at a Paul concert I never want it to end. I felt the same way reading this thread. I can't wait to read more details and watch videos and see more pictures... Thanks so much to all those that kept us up-to-date on the set-list and for the few pictures so far.

Since this will be Memorial Day week-end, what are the chances of getting into Graceland on Saturday or Monday without buying a ticket ahead of time? Same for Sun Studios, etc.?
