I saw a red private jet flying relatively low right over the harbour today around 1pm, heading in the direction of the airport. I was thinking "could it be?"

a little bit of recently released information on parking and shuttles for the concert: City announces parking plans and closures for McCartney and KISS Halifax Regional Municipality is getting ready to rock as work crews hit the Commons tomorrow morning. They?ll start loading equipment for the upcoming Sir Paul McCartney and KISS shows on to the park at 9 a.m., an HRM news release said, adding there are no planned street or sidewalk closures for the concerts. Most pathways on the Halifax Commons will also remain open, with the exception of those in the northwest corner where the stage will be set up. Parking on the south side of Cunard Street from Robie to North Park streets will be ?restricted to concert use only? from Friday through July 21, the release said. Parking around other areas of the park will only be affected on concert dates, which are July 11 for McCartney and July 18 for KISS. To help avoid traffic snarls, the city is offering special shuttle services to the concerts from the Portland Hills, Lacewood and Sackville terminals, as well as from South Centre Mall every ten minutes starting at 12:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. on July 11 and from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on July 18. Return shuttles will leave downtown Halifax starting at 10 p.m. on both nights. The shuttle will cost $2.25 each way.

For anyone travelling to Halifax - I don't mind pm'ing you my contact information. I'm happy to help you in any way I can while you're here visiting! I work right downtown Halifax, and live about a 15-20 minute or so drive from the waterfront. When are most of you arriving?! (p.s. we've been having really dreary wet weather, so make sure to pack your rain coat!)
Im hoping this clears by then. The extended forcast looks better atleast.

Hey all, Does anyone know if there will be more than 1 gate for the GA area? Maybe some locals who are familiar with the Commons may comment. Tks.
1 gate!
Thanks! Just 1 gate makes things fair for everybody. Where is it usually at?
Its usually on the eastern half of the commons, but the stage has never been in the location their setting it up this time, so if I had to take a guess where the gates will be this time, I'd say the southeast corner closest to downtown. On another note, the concert is said to start at 2:30pm, so I'd expect 3 or 4 openers for this show.

when they had reports about this show originally, they quoted 60,000 for the show, which included the VIP seating in the bleachers. It's not a sell out.
Yeah, thats what they expected, not what the venue can hold. They didnt expect PM to fill the place apparently.

I'm disappointed the show isn't sold out! hopefully that will change soon. my brother is going, but i'm too poor
They might not know how many people they can fit into the Commons. It's general admission after all, and there are no seats. Besides, the less people the better the chance I get to be up front!
Nobody does know for sure how many can fit into the commons, but I believe a complete sellout is a little over 100,000.
