RE: Defense Case 1- Press to Play
Press To Play album is one of my favourite albums of Sir McCartney. The song 'Footprints' IS my all time favourite track. It's all just my personal subjective impression. I'm a very new McCartney's fan (since New album) - so I had that possibility to listen to ALL his albums at once and look at his whole past at one glance so to say. And the most striking change seemed to be Press To Play album (that time era): these deep emotions of loss, desperate pain expressed in voice, melody and breathtakingly sincere words. For me it's like two different McCartneys: before and after Press period. As some of you mentioned a difficult period in his life at that time. It's felt in this record very much and in his interviews too. Footprints, However Absurd, Once Upon a Long Ago, Talk More Talk, Only Love Remains, Good Times Coming/Feel the Sun, Stranglehold, Pretty Little Head, Spies Like Us - are my fav from this period.

RE: FourFiveSeconds- new collab. with Rihanna, Kanye and Paul
RamblinRed Wow, it's really amazing. Well said. Absolutely agree.

RE: Diana Krall sings previously-unreleased McCartney song
RamblinRed I feel what you mean with a companion song to 'Scared'...Yes, very beautiful, melancholy melodies. And the first song that came to my mind when I heard the lyrics of 'If I Take You Home Tonight' - was 'Struggle' from New album, because of these lyrics: 'When I get you home, what I wanna do... I can think of something when I get you home tonight' So, the lyrics of 'If I Take You Home Tonight' could be the extra explanation of what the author was thinking to do...

The video. Interesting musical band - trio Well, especially I liked the attractive guitarist And the glance he gives to the camera at around 1:19 - wow, it feels like he is really into the mood of the song and lyrics I think he looks cool. Though I wish this video was all about him not just four or five seconds I've caught myself on the thought how much I am really looking forward to Paul's new material now... The melody is catchy, it's playing in my head all these days

RE: Diana Krall sings previously-unreleased McCartney song
love2travel Glad that you noticed the avatar Your interpretation of this picture is beautiful and interesting. For me the lyrics is very important, I'm always interested in understanding the idea of a song. And for the russian speaking person it's not easy sometimes But in this case it's all quite straight Again, beautiful words of sir Paul.

RE: Diana Krall sings previously-unreleased McCartney song
If I take you home tonight I will think of songs to sing to you Music filled with joy and light If I take you home tonight If I tell you how I feel Would you be afraid and run away I would say my love is real If you let me take you home tonight Oh my love, let me treat you right Let me take you home tonight If you let me take your hand There are places I could bring you to In some unimagined land If you let me take your hand Brilliant song - beautiful soulful melody and tender, elegant, romantic lyrics. Perfect combination with musical arrangement too. I'd like Paul to sing it, though 'Kisses On The Bottom' is a great album, 'Only Our Hearts' - is a wonderful song of Paul, too. Thank you for sharing the links!

Nice melody. I've got an astrological reason to be interested in Paul&Rihanna collaboration But the lyrics... well, I guess if someone is 'talking trash' than he deserves all these words

RE: Demons Dance
I meant I like this feature of his character to: 'You got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive E-lim-i-nate the negative' 'You got to spread joy up to the maximum Bring gloom down to the minimum'
-
RE: Demons Dance
Some elements musically remind me 'Lady Madonna'. I like the positivity of a tune. But the lyrics really has made an irreversible impact on me. '...my dreams are gonna haunt me Got my demons doing such a happy dance' 'I don?t want to sit and watch my demons dance' This self irony, this laughing the 'problem' situation off - this works! If you have a problem - laugh at it - and suddenly it's not a problem any more! 'You put me down but I can laugh it off' ('Riding To Vanity Fair') 'So many times I had to change the pain to laughter' ('Early Days') Sorry, it's just my personal impression.

RE: Only One- new song by Kanye West, featuring Paul
So, Sir McCartney composed the melody or only accompanied on the organ? 'Throughout "Only One," Kanye sings from the perspective of his late mother, Donda West. The record serves as his vision of her feelings towards his marriage and newfound fatherhood'. I liked this New Year surprise quite a lot! Interesting lyrics story, sometimes very touching phrases. The melody is good and pleasant, gets the listener into the right mood. A handwritten version of the lyrics http://www.complex.com/music/2014/12/kanye-west-only-one

RE: This is for brave people!!!: your favorite Macca song??
'Footprints'. I just love so much the desperate pain and suffering perfectly emotionally expressed through his voice. This emotional abyss shows the true power of a feeling. And the lyrics mean the world to me.

RE: Video Game Music: "Destiny"
Nancy R:
Look again--she's there. (at the beginning)
Thank you for pointing at the female Hunter in the video! I really liked that created character with red hair and blue eyes (with long hair she'd be perfect though ). I just didn't recognize her. So with this 'new' detail this video becomes even more interesting and exciting for me. Again, as for me, I just like this global theme of 'After The Apocalypse' - and when my fav musician sings a beautiful song about this and even gets involved with this as a hologram - it's the aesthetic ecstasy C'mon be cosmically conscious Cosmically conscious with me Such a joy
-
RE: Video Game Music: "Destiny"
If to ignore just for a moment that it's all about video game and to look at 'Hope' as a single of Sir McCartney - then the futuristic theme of the video clip and cosmic landscapes with Paul's hologram look really cool and grandeur expressing the idea of the song itself. I love the first images of Paul singing the first lines of 'Hope' - his glance, gestures. And then interesting moment 0:56 when he sings 'surrounding you (hugging himself) and I (pointing in front of himself)' and two people (girl&boy) sitting and looking at him. Doesn't matter that he sings the same 2:34 clearly meaning all of you, people, and I (not so romantic ). So, even when this version doesn't have my fav lines 'We'll be together sharing the load, Watching in wonder as our lives unfold' - I still LOVE this song and its idea hope for the future! This work really surprised&inspired me and entertained my imagination. Good experimentations in art. P.S. I can't ask for the female Hunter he's created recently to be in this video, that'd be asking too much

RE: Paul Collaborating with Kanye West
Well as a new fan of Mr. McCartney and as a very hungry for the new material fan ... I'm really interested in ANY new music of Sir Paul and I really think ANY of his songs is wonderful. It's just the song's title 'Piss On Your Grave' that shocked me a little What to expect from this collaboration - I don't know and that's exciting.
