Last night at Paul McCartney's Melbourne show at AAMI PARK I was physically assaulted because I wanted to stand and dance. Paul McCartney is on my bucket list of artists I want to see live before I (or they die) and I was very happy to tick him off.

However, I wanted to stand and dance in my seat. The people behind me did not even ask nicely. I had no idea the people wanted me to sit down until they were physically punching me in my lower back and putting hands on both my shoulders to shove me down. I have been to so many concerts and I have never been to one where I have to sit down the entire time, but also - when it came to Queen + Adam Lambert and Adele, or any other concert I've been to; I stand up during the up beat songs I like and dance - and I sit down during the slow ones.

I ended up going to the foyer and crying for a good half an hour because all the other sections people were standing and dancing but I wasn't allowed to.

I am thankful I am going again tonight so I can watch the songs that I missed out on.

But I am frightened I am going to deal with the same backlash I did last night. I have been to so many concerts at your venues and have never experienced this before in my life.

Any help would be much appreciated. I don't care how close I am, I just want to sing along and dance to an artist that I never thought I'd be able to tick of my bucket list.

I'm heartbroken. I just wanted to dance and sing.

That's horrible, I'm so sorry to hear this. If it happens again (and I hope it doesn't) maybe report it to security? I experienced the same treatment at one of my first Paul shows years and years ago. A group of men harassed me and my friend for standing but luckily a nice group of people were nearby and told them to stop.

Good luck at your next show and have so much fun!

What an awesome show! I'm usually on the floor for Paul, but opted for a seat in the 200s this time around. The crowd was a little more subdued up there, but once he came out for his encore everyone was on their feet and dancing. MoK was spectacular as always! My only complaint is that I have the McCartney fever again and I want to see another show.

This is excellent news! I was just thinking to myself that he was long overdue for an Ontario gig.

I was hoping he and Taylor would collaborate (on or off stage) at some point!

I was glad there weren't any special guests, I went to see him.

I was thinking the same thing! Also I didn't see anybody handing out those posters as I was leaving. Darn! Oh well.

What a great show! No special guests on stage, but plenty in the crowd. Chevy Chase, Bruce Springsteen, David Spade, Chris Rock. I thought the setlist was fine. It looks "same old, same old" on paper, but it always feels new to me when I'm hearing it live! Though as long as he keeps playing Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five, I'll always be satisfied. I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves as well!

Just got to the venue. They're not letting anybody line up yet, but it is standing room and not seated. The guard said Kanye might be showing up too. And there is a standby line for hopefuls!
