RE: A big hug for Paul
In 1964 my friends and I listened to you sing I Want to Hold Your Hand on a transister radio. Since then, we've heard your thoughts, your music, your stories and met your family. We've known Paul McCartney for forty years. We know what's inside your heart.

Hang in there., birthday boy. I think it was '64 when the first Beatles song was played in the USA. The radio stations had been hyping it for weeks. Someone brought a transistor radio to school, so we girls all gathered around the little radio to listen to The Beatles. I was 13. Soon afterwards, I remember kneeling in front of the tv to see The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. My parents watched me with eagle eyes to see how I'd react. I surprised myself when I started to cry. What was it about The Beatles that made girls cry? Last summer I went to one of your concert. It was the first time I'd seen any of The Beatles live. As you know, the concert started about an hour late and quite a few people were booing. Then, you came on and played Magical Mystery Tour. Ok, that was fine... but it wasn't The Beatles. (purist here). Then, lights went dim and you picked up a guitar and started to sing "I Will." I turned into a 13 year old again. Sobs came from deep inside me. You still make 'girls' cry, you know. You are incredible.
