I think Pipes Of Peace is pretty uneven but it has some great songs, nice production and an overall charm. I listen to it often. Driving Rain (aka The Heather Mills Album) is the only one that downright bores me. It tries SO HARD and delivers SO LITTLE. I really wanted to like it too. Sad.

RE: McCartney III a possibility?
WixRocks!:
I would love a McCartney III however, I don't thin kwe'll ever get one after how awful McCartney II was viewed by the critics (and mosty everyone else...)
It's not 1980 anymore. Most younger musicians/Macca fans rank McCartney II near the top of the heap. I realize these things are all just a matter of opinion, but it's a worn-out notion that McCartney II is bad just because it didn't adhere to some baby-boomer classic rock/pop aesthetic. It's as if people think Paul was trying to write a bunch of sturdy Let It Be/Eleanor Rigby-esque classics, but failed. I've never seen it that way. I just think he was being goofy and having fun (think Wild Honey Pie circa '80). It is for that reason that I don't view Chaos Or Electric Arguments as would-be "McCartney III" projects. They contain some great stuff, but are generally too somber and artistically self-aware for that "McCartney III" tag. PS: I hope Concord expands McCartney II to the ridiculous double album it should have been!

McCartney III a possibility?
Just wishful thinking? The "Coming soon to the McCartney Archive Collection" ad that they dropped in the BOTR reissue pictures McCartney & McCartney II among the next Concord CDs. I would imagine that this whole reissue process is going to take at least a couple years -- and Paul hasn't released a new studio album in over 2 years. This had me wondering how he might tackle the problem of promoting a fresh studio album in the middle of the Concord reissue campaign. Hardcore Macca fans wouldn't get confused, but the casual fan might (and they almost always market to the casual fan). Anyway, I could see Paul surprising us with a McCartney III album for a few reasons. 1) he received positive feedback for the left-of-center Electric Arguments.... 2) he would use the same talking points to cross-promote all three "McCartney" albums.... 3) in an interview last fall he mentioned getting re-aquainted with his old 4-track and 8-track equipment (although that may have been a reference to digging up old tracks for the Concord reissues). Just a thought/prediction.

RE: Favorite Lines From The Movies
Anthony Hopkins as Charles Morse in the Edge: "What one man can do, another can do. " also.... "Never feel sorry for a man who owns a plane. " also... "They died... saving my life."

RE: Favorite Lines From The Movies
Peter Fonda as Terry Valentine in the Limey (also starring the amazing Terence Stamp): Did you ever dream about a place you never really recall being to before? A place that maybe only exists in your imagination? Some place far away, half remembered when you wake up. When you were there, though, you knew the language. You knew your way around. That was the sixties. [pause] No. It wasn't that either. It was just '66 and early '67. That's all there was.

RE: David Lynch Foundation Concert
We were in great seats in the first mezz and amazingly the seat next to me was empty for the entire night! The show was sold-out, so that's a mystery...

RE: David Lynch Foundation Concert
A few random thoughts: -- Ringo and Paul looked and sounded great and seem way younger than they are! -- Radio City Music was a great venue...beautiful room, great sound -- There where many good things about the show, but overall it felt just a little underwhelming considering all the high expectations and potential of what could have been. Seeing Paul and Ringo together was really cool...but the pacing of the show and Paul's lackluster setlist of concert staples kept it from really "taking off". I Saw Her Standing There again...getting really stale. -- Audience members texting during the show, constantly holding up glowing phones in your view, etc...distracting and so rude. Why can't people just be in the moment and enjoy the show? Why are you texting your friend across town now? Just rubbing it in? If the show was really that great you would be looking at the stage not your phone. -- Missed opportunity: Too bad Mike Love wasn't utilized for Back In The U.S.S.R. (could have been a great Beatles and Beach Boys moment with an India link...I guess there's bad blood with Mike) -- Funny moment...Donovan (bless his heart) actually did an Austin Powers dance move (with V-fingers across eyes) during Season of the Witch and I don't think he was being ironic. Cut it out Dad...you're embarrassing us! -- Favourite moment: Paul and Ringo pretending to get in front of each other for applause attention at the end of the show and hugging as they walked off stage...a nice image of old friends. The best thing about this show (for me) was sharing it with my best friend.
