ehmpatty:
Ottawa just might have been my favourite Macca concert so far. Everything came together and made it a very special night. The set list was refreshed and the old favourites were still there. Some songs added to the tour for the first time. We even had Mull of Kintyre (being Canadian has its advantages!), new stage and lighting. Most importantly, Paul and the band were energised and going at every number at full throttle. I've had much better seats in the past (I was way up in the back this time - but so happy to have any tickets at all) and yet there was something really special about the concert on Sunday in Ottawa. We were rocking at the back of the house! Other posters have also said this concert might have beat them all. I really agree. Best of all, the couple sitting next to me travelled from the US for the concert. It was a surprise 25th anniversary present from husband to wife. He didn't tell her until last Tuesday that they were going to the concert. He also managed to cook up a reason why they needed to get passports (distant cousin getting married, or something like that). It all came as a total surprise to her and she had been hoping for decades to see Paul in concert. She was overjoyed the whole night (hubby too). Seeing Paul in concert never gets old for me and I feel badly for the people who seem to have become jaded somewhere along the line and complain bitterly about set lists or other aspects of the concert or production. Yes, I can understand their point of view but it's just so much more fun to enjoy the concert and feel lucky to have the experience. I hope you all have a chance to get Out There and see the show.
I totally agree with you. There is nothing to complaint when we have the extraordinary chance to see Paul in concert.
