Canaris:
My wife and I went to hear Paul's soundcheck the night before the Hampden concert. As he spoke to some stagehands , he was sat at the piano and started playing what can only be described as a piece of classical music that I have never heard before. It was a beautiful tune that he is obviously working on and we so hope to hear it again sometime.
Hi and regards from Mexico. I was there too (rehearsal and soundcheck next day) What you hear it's a tune called "Celebration".. and old MACCA composition that was supoussed to be included on the UNRELEASED animated film "Rupert" from the 70's.. later developed into a classical tune, AND IT'S AVAILABLE Officially on the STANDING STONE cd- so, if you wanna hear it again, you need to buy it.. Celebration is part of most of the Soundchecks since 2002 until now.. you can HEAR it again if you search youtube.. It's NOT a new song.. sorry.. I had the fortune to be in all the rehearsal and this is the COMPLETE SET LIST, as it was reported by me a long time ago.. stick3:
I could have sworn that during soundcheck the front of Abe's bass drum had 'DW' on it in masking tape, for his drum brand, Drum Workshop. When I got to the show it was changed to PM...Could have been the crew? I am not 100% sure...
YES! during the July 10th soundcheck, Abe's drum has "DW" instead of "PM" from the next day..weird-

Any news about the radio contest about the 5 songs choose by fans to add in the Macca setlist??
Contest still appears to be open but perhaps the results have already been forwarded to the rehearsal studio. The 50 slots to attend the July 10th soundcheck is an even more vague issue. I think they are winging it as they go. DCD Ltd.
Hi, sorry for ask, but..how did you know about a July 10th soundcheck? If that would be the case, then is a "rehearsal" or "dress rehearsal" for the mini-tour 2009- Soundcheck will be July 11, Paul always do his soundchecks THE DAY of the concert no matter if he did a pre-rehearsal the day before- are you sure Paul will do something July 10th? regards
Solving the mystery has been a bit frustrating. We only get very small sound bites and news clips from various tv and radio stations that mention so little information about the contest that you can't really decipher whether they have but are are purposely withholding the full information or whether they are perpetuating a rumour that is still taking shape. The promoters originally wouldn't say when Paul was arriving but have been quoted as saying it will be on the 10th at which time he will personally inspect the stage and venue. It is at this time that the sparse information indicates the 50 person soundcheck will occur. Being an open venue with free access to the perimeter I'm sure that just being in the vincinity of The Common will be a treat for this soundcheck. I'll record it in HQ video if I get enough heads up. DCD Ltd.
OK,I will do the same! regards from Mexico City and I will see you in Halifax! all the best!

PLEASE! Help to a mexican fan attending the concert! -How far is the Airport and Bus station from the concert? -More cheap hotels near the concert? -any additional info will be great! thanks
The airport is located about a 35 minute drive from the concert site. The public bus system does not travel out to the airport but you can use this service to take you to several major hotels http://www.airporter.biz/ DCD Ltd.
thanks, is there Subway from Airport to City centre or something? where is the place for Paul's concert? how is it called? or it's an open air venue?

blondevixen:
Hi All - I am currently living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Needless to say, VERY excited about recent news that Paul will be performing here in July. A few points for those looking to join us for the concert: -The Web site selling tickets (Ticket Atlantic) has been known to crash when flooded with traffic - I believe the site crashed during the beginning of the sale of Elton John tickets, and MANY people, as a direct result, were unable to secure tickets. The main thing to remember is to NOT refresh your page, etc. once you have proceeded to the checkout. You may be "waiting" a little while for it to process. Hopefully they have worked the kinks out for this sale, but who knows. I'm debating doing a phone-in order, or just doing the old fashioned line camp-out. -The hotel closest to the concert site is the Holiday Inn on the corner of Quinpool & Robie. This is across the street from the concert site. I would advise booking rooms NOW, as hotels in the city book-up VERY quickly, even for smaller events. If you want contact information, just let me know. Or you can just Google-it like the rest of the world! -If you are unable to secure tickts, there are some reliable local sites you can find tickets. Let me know if you don't get any, and I'll let you know.
