What a great show in Ft. Worth!  Paul looked and sounded great.  The visuals were outstanding as well as the sound.  The people around me were a mix of "original" fans, twenty somethings, kids and everything in between.  I especially loved seeing the younger fans singing along to all the songs.  The couple next to me were twenty somethings who had "My Valentine" as their wedding song and it was so sweet to see them singing and swaying to the song. (My wedding song, "Maybe I'm Amazed" came on a few songs later and we enjoyed that together.)

The only negative is Ticketmaster.  I paid more than I've ever paid for tickets and had the worst seats I've ever had! And this includes front row center, section in Denver and a VIP experience Kansas City.   A young woman standing next to me at the "drive by" (which was amazing because he actually had his car stop!) bought a ticket the day before with a better seat than mine for what I paid.  Ticketmaster "released" some tickets.

Oh well, in the end I saw a fantastic show and that's what matters! Go see him if you can!

It was a great show! Despite Ticketmaster (I share your pain about the price paid and the headache getting tickets!), it was a blast and I'm so happy I could take my nearly 7yo to her second Paul concert. She wanted it to last forever (we all did). Throughout the show, it was amazing to feel the love and fandom for Paul. A Beautiful Night!

I'm optimistic (but also realistic) there will be another another chance to see Paul in concert... the band was so tight, I kept thinking he is out here for them and showing off his longest line-up (20 years since Driving USA Tour). I wish they play another 20 years!

One of the highlights at the concert was "Fuh You" ... which I am still not a fan of the album version, but live that song is excellent!

Before you know it, your daughter will understand the innuendo of that song! 😂
I posted you a link to the tour blanket on the Got Back Merch thread.

Oh yeah! As far as she knows now, the song is called "For You"! She also likes "Come On to Me" and that one is even less innuendo!!

What do you all think of the tour litho? Is this Paul coming to the end of the Long and Winding Road?

Picked one up at the Fort Worth show last week: not sure what to make of the imagery still... the concert didn't feel like "the end of any Long and Winding Road" but, still...

I said this months ago.  This is the last major tour of the world.  He finishes up in a few weeks in NJ, and then he will tour Euro, SA, etc.  We might get an occasional show here and there, but the big tours are over.  See him while you can, not many shows left.  The man is 80.

Agreed. I'll keep holding out hope for one more, just as I did after we saw him in 2019... This is the 20th anniversary of this band, so I really think you are right that this is the last tour of the world and will carry on in the autumn and maybe early 2023. (I'd also be happily wrong on that guess!)

At the Fort Worth show, the Got Back tour blanket was not being sold, so am wondering if that is a website exclusive item for the tour. Or, if merch table sales of it sold out in the shows before May 17.

(I'm sharing because we asked - my daughter really wanted to get one.)

The tour blanket is available online through paulmccartney.com here:

      https://merch.paulmccartney.com/dept/got-back-accessories?cp=111524_111533_111540

      It costs $165!!

Thank you! Yeah, I could imagine impulse buying that blanket at a merch table but not when I sit and look at ordering a $165 blanket...

Totally corect.  ES may not have gotten any awards or nominations anyway, very unlikely, but the initial choices of songs to release to spotlight the album were ALL so wrong.  How could Capitol make such a blunder?  The release of "Who Cares" is such an obvious choice to go with first time out, a 5-year old could have reached that conclusion.  Backed with either "Despite Repeated Warnings," but especially with "Happy With You," and you've got classic and very commercial Paul McCartney.  Perfect recipe for success and recognition.....one very uptempo (and relevant) song and one very beautiful melodic song.  If all of us can readily see just how this album should have been launched, who the hades at Capitol botched it...not to mention Paul, himself???  Boggles the mind!!

Agreed. That these tracks were all sidelined in favor of "Fuh You" boggles my mind.

      Steve:

I have just heard a completely different album! Please go grab headphones and give this another listen. Only headphones are picking up subtle sounds, sonics and background noises. Very very interesting what comes out... This is far more complex than I first thought....

Agreed! Enjoy the car stereo experience, too: thinking about PM listening in the car!
