I first *met* Mike here at pm.com in the spring of 2002. We were playing "One Hit Wonders" and because of him, I finally became convinced that everyone on the internet wasn't a weirdo. (In fact, because of him, I was spared a house fire, but that's another story!) Mike was so quick with the answers and the smart-a$$ remarks, but always in a funny, good-friend sort of way. My cats would sit nearby and wonder why their mom was laughing so hard while staring at that strange box on the desk. We traded quips and posts for ages before he finally discovered I wasn't a guy. Boy, did he have a few choice comments about that! I remember reading about all of the exploits of Mike, Mike, Keps, Clorinda, Paige and a few others getting together in person(!) and wishing I lived closer so that I could join in on the fun. Mike was always the ringleader! The threads devoted to those encounters would go on for pages and for weeks and the rest of us far-flung boardies delighted in reading about all of the antics. There were some real doozies!
When Mike was awaiting surgery back in 2007, I sent a little something to cheer him up. In true Mike fashion, even that turned into an episode straight out of Seinfeld. He called to thank me and we were on the phone for almost 3 hours. I don't think I said more than a dozen words (a rarity for me!) I haven't laughed that much in ages. I want to let Mike's sister, family and loved ones and friends know that I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. I know Mike's passing has left a hole in your hearts that can never be filled. I ache for you and grieve right along with you. I hope after some time has passed, a thread will be started so that we can share our favorite stories and memories of Mike. Just a guess, but I think he might like that. Mike, thanks for all the laughs!

I tried to post my photo link on Brian's website, but I can't seem to log into my account. I type in my info, and then the page just freezes up or doesn't load the new window. Oh well.

Okay, okay, I know it's a little late, but just as I promised last January, here are the photos from the CD release party.

ops: It's taken me a small lifetime to figure out how to scan, browse, open a photobucket account, and then, how to get the darn things in there!!! Now, I can't seem to stop!!! Here goes . . . . . . . . http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j70/scottycatt/ I also have photos from the March 17th show, and a couple of videos that keep crashing my computer during upload.
I'll keep trying until I've got 'em all in here!! Glad to hear the show was a rousing success last night. I hope to make it to at least one of the other upcoming L.A. gigs. . . . .

No green beer for me, but I can't say the same for Ronna!
Brian was hot as usual and the place was packed! I was able to take a few nice shots, once I got my camera out of some weird mode that I managed to get it into.
: I even managed a video of "Subatomic". I'll need some pointers from you tech-savvy people on how to get these things posted.

ops: Brian, as always, is just the sweetest guy. He personalized a couple of CDs that I bought for some out-of-town friends, and he posed for a group photo with Ronna, Lynn and Sharon. The photo turned out really nice.
I was sitting at the bar and managed to get a drink spilled all over the back of my jeans and my coat. I'm sure my coat will smell like a pub the next time I wear it.

Hey there, guys!!! I've been away for so long, I just now read about Brian's show on the 17th!! Count me in!!! I can't believe you guys haven't heard about the tradition of pinching those who don't wear green on St. Patty's Day!!! That's been a tradition here in the states for as long as I can remember (and that's a pretty long time!!!
) Hope to see you there!!!

RE: Brian Ray Archived
Well, it's taken me over a week to find time to stop in and say "hi" to everyone. Wasn't the show incredible???? That Brian sure knows how to pack a club!!! I had called the Mint the afternoon of the show and was told that they were having to rent chairs to accommodate all the seating requests!!! The lady on the phone told me they'd never had to do that before!!! What a sweetheart that Wix is!! He mingled through the crowd and was so generous with his time, talking with people, signing autographs and posing for pictures. I thought it was cute that he was drinking a Corona. . . I guess he's becoming a regular SoCal guy!!!
By the way, I've got a FABULOUS photo of Wix with Dawn and Gail. Now if I can just figure out how to post the darn thing!!!
After the show, I bought a few copies of Brian's CD for friends and Brian was so sweet to personalize the autographs. I asked him to sign one for my friend, Lynn, and when I gave it to her later, she opened up the CD to read "Rock on, Glenn!! Brian Ray '06" (It was so noisy in the club. . . guess "Lynn" sounded like "Glenn" to Brian. My friend was so tickled by the mistake, and she actually thought the boo-boo made the autograph all the more special.
I took tons of photos until my battery went dead. Sadly, I wasn't able to get any shots of Brian with any of you guys, so you'll all have to come to the next show and I'll use my battery more sparingly.
It was so much fun to see Dawn, Fiona and Diana (you guys must really be racking up the frequent flier miles by now!), Sharon, Ronna, Lynn, Karen, Kris and the "other" Lynn, not to mention the party girls Dollierocker, Bloody Mary, Penny Lane and your two friends. You girls were the life of the party.
Amy(Jet)2), I'm beginning to think you don't really exist! I can't believe we've missed each other yet again!! Glad to read that you made it. There's always next time! And Brian, if you're reading this, thanks so much for the incredible show!! I've had your CD in my car player all week and I can't get your tunes out of my head!! Your music is so much better than anything I've been hearing on the radio lately. I hope you'll be invading the airwaves soon!!!
I can't wait 'til Brian's next gig. Let's make this a regular date!!
