RE: How Does Your Garden Grow?
Never thought I'd be replying to a 'gardening' thread, but I've been really getting into my garden lately! We moved here two years ago, but a month after moving in, I had my second child, so next to nothing has been done in the garden over the last couple of years. Neither my husband or I have any gardening experience but we've been trying to keep what's already there neat and tidy. Last year we planted five fruit trees as our garden is quite long but is pretty much uncultivated at the moment. Most are doing ok with fruit appearing on the cherry and the two apple trees. The peach tree my mum said would probably never fruit, has several small furry fruits on it, but it doesn't have many leaves, and those is does look diseased. The trouble is I've got two large garden pests to compete with...my two girls. I've tentatively planted some flowers in the flower bed, but the beautiful pot of assorted tulips fell fowl to my two...they pulled all the heads off in a few seconds flat!
: Our plum tree is laughably a twig in the ground, with no leaves or any sign of life, so digging that up is a job waiting to be done. We've got lots of plans for the garden and we're looking forward to working on it over the years. Am thinking of getting one of those plastic covered greenhouses just for basic use. Are they any good?

RE: * * * * * * Some of Your Favorite Music Videos * * * * * * *
Lard Butties...are they the same as 'Bread and Dripping' that I was given as a kid? It literally was the fat that dripped off the Sunday roast that was left to go hard, then spread on bread...and we 'loved' it! Anyway, here's a couple of vids I enjoy!
(actually not a 'vid' but I missed the Tull conversation earlier, and this is my fave by them - and Living in the Past). -

RE: The Original Paul McCartney Picture Thread
[quote="ritaellen"]
Thanks for all your lovely pictures. Paul certainly does look hot in red - but I want to challenge you now to see if you can produce some of him wearing blue! (He looks good in blue too - and green...purple...orange with pink spots etc.etc.etc)!

RE: Remembering Linda
Yes, what a wonderful lady! Someone I used to work with said they'd been down in ..., shopping one day. They were in a green grocers store when they heard a woman with an American accent behind them. They turned round to see who it was and saw Linda buying some veg! He said he was struck how beautiful she was - a real natural beauty. He hadn't particularly been a fan but he said what a polite, pleasant mannered woman she came across as and was quite taken by her after that. Sending my love, too, to her family and friends, who must think of her every day.

RE: David Lynch Foundation Concert
I agree. Why would anyone not want to see Paul and Ringo perform together? What 'myth' are they supposed to be ruining by doing so anyway? Let's have more of it I say! And correct me if I'm wrong, but Paul, Ringo and George 'did' reunite, albeit in the studio, and under the name 'Beatles'. This quite obviously was NOT a Beatles reunion but an EX-Beatles reunion - either way, who cares, just enjoy it for what it was! I can not see how this concert, and their performing 'Beatles' songs can possibly be disrespectful to John or George!? Who knows, if they were still with us, they'd possibly been up there on stage with them too!
I'm sure they'd be glad Paul and Ringo are still performing together and share a great friendship. If other performers are 'allowed' to get up and play Beatles songs, what grief could you possibly have against Paul and Ringo doing it too - good or bad?! I'm really pleased for all of you who were lucky enough to be there, that you enjoyed the concert and many, many thanks for sharing your experiences!
