Whose Instagram was this? Different things kept popping up, including Sean Lennon!

And as long as we are on this subject...has anyone come across a New Orleans soundcheck. Looking for Coming Up.

Whose post are you referring to?

The one above his apparently. He just didn't quote it.

I thought maybe it was that, but the person didn’t even name their state! Oh, well!

Sorry people! Yeah, the post about  more shows. Been to 2 shows already but need some more.

Yup. No soundcheck but not a problem with the show. I’ve done it before.

Nope. He’s apparently stopped calling people up on stage too! ☹️

Right, I haven't seen or heard of anyone get called up on stage during this US leg at any of the shows.  And I haven't seen him signing albums on stage in a long time.  Actually I'm glad he stopped doing that; people would start flinging albums at him and sometimes he'd get hit by one, even in the face.

Nothing in New Orleans.....didn’t even read signs. Nothing in Green Bay...but he read signs .

I remember doing the soundcheck in LA and it was cool, but not my favorite. There's something I love about the build up to the show and seeing him for the first time when the first song starts. I know its sounds crazy to skip, but it sort of takes a little bit of the luster of the show away for me, personally. I still may go but wanted to at least know the timeline. thanks!!!

Echoing...do not skip the soundcheck! It’s a mini concert.

    • RE: Green Bay Wisc, June 8th 2019 - CONFIRMED

I know there is a huge debate about the setlist going on but putting that aside...I was quite concerned about his voice because he did Madison on Thursday. But I gotta say...not bad at all. I’ve heard worse. I traveled from NYC, have been to so many of his shows I lost count. I was blown away as always. Live Macca will never, ever  disappoint! If you are going to a show for specific songs then that may be a problem. But if you are going to see the greatest live show on earth, with one of the most prolific song writers of MY generation then you will be smiling, crying and singing from the opening song to the last.

Bumpppppp...Weather forecast tomorrow is absoultely fabulous.

Also, they will be selling special  commemorative Paul at Lambeau merchandise such as T-shirts, cheeseheads, etc.,  unlike at  other venues on this tour. I expect the demand may well out strip supply!

Traffic coming from the south will probably be tough as there is construction along I-41 and the Green Bay Bellin marathon with 12k expected runners is also tomorrow and will close down some roads...Not sure if any in the vacinity of Lambeau will still be shut when the lots open at 4PM but just be forewarned.

Cheeseheads, that's fun! Glad there will be good weather.  I have noticed city-specific t shirts at the shows I've seen so far.

Hopefully they will also actually be serving cheese at the buffet unlike in Madison.

True! There wasn't any.  Btw I see in the online store here that there is a Green Bay football jersey for sale so I'm sure that will be at the show

Yes, I see the jerseys are $150-155!!! Yikes!!! We'll see what else they have at the stadium!

I got here yesterday and the merch was being sold inside the atrium up by the 1919 Tavern.  Went for a drink and by the time I got out only small and medium sizes were available.BUT they told me these special Green Bay items will be sold at the stands tonight. There is more than just the jerseys.

      Hello Green Bay-goers!

Does anyone have the skinny on the VIP/soundcheck yet in terms of timing etc? I’ve only done soundcheck once before and I can’t remember how early they told us to be at the venue that time. I think it was around 4 but could be wrong.

      Thanks!

I am sure by now you know you need to be there by 3:30. But I figured....just in case!  Enjoy!

Yes, he read some out in Raleigh, SirMacca...including a sign that asked him to autograph "my butt" which Paul declined to do, but then Paul added, "But let's see it, though" which made many laugh. He read from a sign saying the fan had named her son "McCartney" (as her child's Christian name) and he launched into a new story about James Corden naming his kid "McKenzie McCartney Corden." Which the audience also appreciated.

      Thanks Susy!

Paul better than anyone, knows his current vocal limitations. First sack of the list, The long and winding road and now Yesterday. ¡Your current set list is the right one!. Nobody believes that today can sing songs like: Wanderlust, No More Lonely Nights, Tug Of War, Only Love Remains, Distractions, Here There and Everywhere, My Love, and a long etc ... and we have to thank a man of almost 77 years are still giving us live joys ... we enjoyed what little we have left of Mcca in concert.I totally agree that some more song of his new LP would be fantastic, but I remember how in his last concert in Paris in 2018, the audience did not react when Paul sang the three songs of his new LP and some went to the bar and the restroom..

I would like new “old” songs. Like Maccaroni said he has a ton of material. I would love something from Off the Ground or Flowers. And as much as I don’t care for Yesterday or the Long and Winding Road, I get how others would like to hear them. But as also said there are a bunch of other songs he could cut instead of some of the classics. And yeah his voice aint what it used to be so some of the vocal ranges are tough but I have been to things like Unplugged and Up Close where he drops the key and basically does another version of a song. I have been going to concerts since 1976 so you can imagine how tired of some of these songs I am. And yes I complain but I will still go. I guess when it comes down to it, whatever Paul’s setlist is it’s still a damn good show!

any news on the swag, from you New Orleans people?!!!  I am dying of curiosity, I have a Gold VIP seat...

It’s a very large zippered tote like bag. Inside is a baseball cap, a luggage tag, a blanket and a Freshen Up lithograph/poster. The bag is really nice.

Previous swag in 2016 - the "One on One" tour also  incuded a zippered large tote bag and a blanket. Wonder why the duplication?

Sorry guys, post concert fog! it’s a beach towel not a blanket. And it’s not like the old tote bag was. It is much larger and a nice blue  color. The tour logo is very subtle. I am using it as a carry on bag when I fly home tomorrow. That’s how much bigger it is.

As I feared, according to setlist.fm when checking the set list for the New Orleans concert tonight, "Yesterday" is no longer a part of his concert.

Its been played at every show since the 70's.   This idea that so many people at his shows are first timers which is why his show is so Beatle heavy is also nonsense.  The man has been touring non stop since 2002, and also 89-90, and 93.  Thats a lot of gigs in 30 years.  Most shows Ive been to, the people around me have seen him multiple times, or at least once.

Its been the same tributes since 2002, the same stories more or less since 2002, the same closer since 2011, and the same opener since 2016.  Nothing Fresh, nothing new, all old.  He had 2 months off, and couldnt find the time to reahearse and insert ONE new song from ANY decade into the set.  Embarrassing.

I personally thought his voice sounded better than it has in quite awhile. A few clunkers here and there but that’s to be expected. Being the first show was definitely a plus vocal wise. Quite a few new videos behind him and yes the riser stage is still there. From where I was in the third row the pit in front didn’t seem to have as much junk in it but I could be wrong about that.  And he didn’t do the reading of the signs.

Thanks to you and Carlos for your reviews! What did you think of the horn section? I think they are great and do add a lot to the songs they are used on.  I just remembered that last night was the first show they've done in the US.

The horns were fabulous! I honestly didn’t think it was going to make a difference. But I was wrong. They really were phenomenal!

Those type of tickets (Hot Sound) are not transferable unless the person who purchased them comes with you, shows their I.D. and says (s)he is “giving” you the tickets.

I believe you only need the person who purchased them with you if you want to go to soundcheck. I bought them from a third party back in 2014 and was able to use them to attend just the concert.

Okay, I see. It sounds like Steve wanted the whole package though.

Oh if that’s the case the you are 100% right Nancy. I was just happy to be in the third row.
