Love that album! Especially the tracks From a lover to a friend, She's given up talking, Your Way, About You, Heather, Back in the sunshine again and Rinse the randrops. I know a lot of people on the board here are not that keen on the album (and I don't understand why), but imho it's one of his best. A real revelation after his albums in the eighties and nineties. For me it's like a 'come back' album, and the first of five great solo albums to come (including The Fireman's Electric Arguments). What I like most of it, is it's freshness; it's sounds like Macca had a whole lot of fun making it. I do agree with the comments on Driving Rain though. I think it's the album with the weakest title track...

RE: Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors
Anny Rock:
I wonder if Paul will consider playing at Pinkpop Festival this year... (Pink is short for Pinksteren, which means Whitsun; this festival is around that time each year) What do Dutch fans think?
As far as I know, Paul is on the top of the wish list of the organisation. Let's hope they will succeed once (and broadcast it live on tv, as they did with Bruce Springsteen).

RE: SECOND SINGLE FROM "NEW" - "QUEENIE EYE"
darrel:
Sounds great No one else has mentioned this yet but on the player it says this is a radio edit so the album version will be longer.
The radio edit is about 3'26", and according to iTunes the album version is 3'48"

RE: Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!
B J Conlee:
Inspector Sands, IMHO, New (the song) lands just fine and l like his vocals. Not saying it is one of Paul's best songs (he probably has 100 very good to great songs and New is probably a mid-tier song for Paul) but "New" is a good feeling, optimistic and summerish Pop song that many people will enjoy. Admittedly, it is on the light side but I'm hoping that there are several better, deeper songs on the Album. Paul's writing covers many genres and the light Pop is just one of them. While it is nice to hear a happy, Beatle sounding new Pop song by Paul, I'm really excited for the whole album. That will be my ultimate judge. Don't know where you live but September is still a warm, summery type of month in almost all the US and the populated portions of Canada. There is still plenty of time for "New" to give that summer-like vibe in America. Finally, it's pretty tiresome for people to continue to quote John as though he is the final say in Paul's songwriting career. Macca has been writing songs for over 30 years since John's horrible assassination. Who's to say that John wouldn't be very complementary of Paul's "total" musical career if he could speak today. Sir Paul has never stopped churning out the music and performing for over 50 years now. Along the way, he continues to give his fans great music with tremendous diversity. People aren't going to love every song but you have to admire the work ethic and how prolific he has been. I also admire that he never does a full show without his tributes to John, George and Linda. He never forgets his roots. PS Glad you like My Valentine. I liked it too.

New Potato
Yes, "new potatoes" are on plenty of menus I've seen. Kind of a trendy thing, like applewood smoked bacon, or aioli.
Ah, didn't know that. Now it makes sense

Make of this what you will. http://www.musicbanter.com/general-music/71295-new-mccartney-album-song-titles.html
Interesting, but how serious can we take this? Two completely different track lists... More than thirty songs... And even an 50 year old Lennon-McCartney composition amongst it (Cilla Black's It's For You) No sources mentioned, I don't know, but it doesn't look reliable...

i will believe it when i hear it...
Same here. I havn't forgotten how 'Off The Ground' was being described before its release as being "Paul's best album since the 'white album!" yeah, right :
When someone says...."his best album in years"...who knows what that could mean? Could be his best since Chaos. I mean that one was released years and years ago. That kind of statement means next to nothing. If I heard his album I would be giving specifics!! I would never just say...best in years. Please.
Of course it will be his best album in years. It's the first one in years (KOTB not counted as a regular album)!

RE: Only Love Remains video
audi:
I was in junior high when the "Press" video was airing pretty regularly on MTV. At the time, I didn't appreciate the video because I was not aware of what a big deal it was for Paul to actually be on public transportation. I would say that was the case for the majority of MTV viewers, as well.
I really liked that video; very simple idea, but very effective. Shortly after the release I visited London for the first time, in secret hoping to see Paul at the Underground (being young and naieve)

RE: is off the ground the next remaster?
It says release date 1 octobre. Don't think it's a new remaster, because V&M and ATSOS are announced as the next ones... I wouldn't expect OTG as a remaster now; you'd think they release the 70's albums first, before starting with the 90's Curious...

RE: Only Love Remains video
I do remember this video. I was a 20 year old student at the time and already a big Macca fan for years. But this video was soooo not cool... even a bit embarrassing to be honest... still don't like the song for that reason. Press to Play ain't my favorite album either. The best songs imo were the B-sides: It's not true and Write Away...
