Dear Mr. McCartney,
I am sorry to bother you with an issue about which, I am sure, you are already very informed. However, and unfortunately, regarding the reimbursements of the two concerts of yours which were canceled in Italy, very unpleasant things have been happening in the last few days.
First, Mimmo D'Alessandro, in a public interview, accused those who asked for refund to be social haters. Then, he added that the canceled concert tickets were meant for wealthy people, that is, for people who actually do not need refunds. You may read the interview here: https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2020/05/24/paul-mccartney-polemiche-dei-fan-per-i-voucher-rivogliamo-i-soldi-risponde-lorganizzatore-dalessandro-impensabile/5811964/.
You will understand, Mr. McCartney, that in addition to the damage, for those people who dreamt to hear you playing and singing, insult and derision are being added, and I believe you agree with me that your fans, Mr. McCartney, who have loved you deeply for decades, do not deserve all this. There are young, high school kids who put money aside to buy the tickets; and there are families of four, five people who are in fact at risk of losing over a thousand euros. If the concerts have been canceled, then D'Alessandro and Galli have no expenses to pay for those two events. Why then do they not refund tickets? Does it seem to you that this is a deeply unfair act?
I understand that, in your position, Mr. McCartney, it is not easy to choose which side to be on. However, if I can, I would ask you for a quick stance on this very sad story. And I would ask you, in case, not to forget what you represent, as a man and an artist, for millions of people in the world, of different generations.
I am one of them. I am a non-professional musician, actually a University professor, and I have been following you for over forty years. You and John have taught me beautiful things since my teenage years. I was supposed to go to your concert in Naples. I had - and still have - a ticket for the "Settore Tribuna Numerata". I would like to send you a photo of the ticket, but it seems not allowed in this message board.
Please let us know that you are on our side, and be it as an act of justice and affection.
Thanks for your time, and your reading.
I greet you with deep affection and esteem.

Bravo, Mario! Bellissima lettera e speriamo che Paul, o qualcuno del suo staff, la legga! Grazie!
