Specifically, the version of "Let It Be" we see and hear is the one Phil Spector put together....the louder, rockier lead guitar he inserted once he got the tapes in early 1970. That is not the version that would...or was..in the film when it was originally released. It didn't exist yet when the film was being shot and was in the can in 1969. There are three versions of the song I have heard: George Martin's produced single (the best version of the song), the Spector version with the louder lead guitar part...and another one....which I believe is the version we first heard in the the film when it was initially released. Why use the Spector version now in the film?? When it didn't even exist in that form at the time. In the film clip, John is holding a guitar but doesn't really appear to be playing it....he just sorta' plucks a string every now and then. Was he totally out of it????
He was playing lower bass notes on a regular guitar!

"Let It Be" remains my favorite song of all time. I could here it 50,000 times and never get bored (though I agree that the version on the original single was the best of the released versions).
