The ..2012.... Political thread

The problem with the blame game is because it takes the actions of a nut job (and it's now being reported just as I mentioned above - a 'the devil made me do it' deal' and blame it on a particular party who played no part, directly or indirectly. Completely irresponsible...I guess the responsibility of the death of the retired democratic officer who burned in their car this morning down in Washington DC also falls in Palin's hands as well, right?
Well you have made your point clear here and all the rest of us don't agree. What party do you support? Are you pro tea party or are you Rep? Would you actually vote for Sarah Palin? If so why? What is it about her that you believe?

the republican/right wingers are really grasping at straws trying to spin their way out of this...the truth is that the republican/conservative leaders who have incited violence and their ditto head followers have blood on their hands
Funny enough, the only people making it a politican spin (or anything for that matter) are democrats
As for the earlier allegation that this 'had to be politically motivated', it's turning into a 'the devil made me do it' story according to officials. And while this killer's (psychotic) claim is most likely a reference to the actual biblical demon, if he was actually referring to a political party, he would've meant 'democrats'
Yep, the republican/right wingers are becoming unhinged and making even less sense that usual. An assassination attempt was made on a congresswoman, a federal judge was killed and innocent bystanders killed (including a child) all at a political rally....and that's not politically motivated...pleassse
Yup - Dems in action...treading on the graves of those who died in the name of attempting to gain the upper hand...
Actually, I need to pull out my 'hand clapping' emoticon when I get home. Not sure how you guys can sleep at night with this insidious agenda to uphold
This is getting kind of scarey with you using all the laughing emoticons and talking about how the dems are dismissing the tragedy. I won't use the clinical term here but it sure sounds dismissive of reality. Unhinged indeed
The funny thing is the fact that we could quite possibly lay numerous diagnoses based on just this last comment alone: Disturbed thought process Ineffective denial Distubed energy field Acute (perhaps even chronic) confusion Impaired (or in your case 'selective') memory Defensive coping Social Isolation risk for other-directed violence (can't say I'd trust any of my loved ones around you) Heck - the list is too long; I'll stop there.

I would not vote for Palin - but do not see that she did anything 'more wrong' than any other politician...and I'm an independant who probably leans more so towards the right (but more so in the middle than the extremes I read from either party)...and care to quantify 'all the rest of us'?

Ok good! Now you said you don't see she done anything more wrong. So you do think her encouraging bravado like load your gun and reload might be dangerous if a confused person heard it and thought it meant Revolution time. Can see this side of the debate at all?

What happening is some have drawn a line in the sand and there just not going to ever agree with the other side. Reason just doesn't matter as much as pride. thats what happen to the health care debates and that happening here. When those in favor of health care reform spoke up and had a very convincing reason for health care reform. The Rep party attacked them with words like socialist, death panels and when they over came that debate they paid anarchist to disrupt town hall meeting to stop the spread of reason and literally scream down people so they caused fear and disrupted the reasonable words so no one could be swayed. That is not democracy. The Rep made it a them or us debate instead of trying to work to make the system better for all. and in the end it deliberately poisoned the bill so Obama wouldn't look like a good guy but a smuck. However when the Rep were asked this last week if they would all give up there health care like the Dem agree to do they refused to vote on it.

Let's see: a moderate Democrat Congresswoman and a Republican Judge (appointed by H.W. Bush). Unhinged - not me, please look in the mirror
And it's a shame that anything like this happens anywhere in this country ... at a political gathering or otherwise ... I for one do not wish to throw my hat in a ring for any political spin (at this time) when so many people have died and/or were injured - we should be mourning and/or praying instead

I can't see any side of a debate when hypocracy is involved - the democratic league council have depicted similar targets on their maps and have even called those areas 'enemy territory'...is it just the luck of the draw that Sara gets called on the table because some loose nut who's not connected to Sara in any way goes crazy and then the democrats (probably by mere luck) finds a Sara Palin approved visual chart with targets on it? But to answer your question, I don't agree with a lot of tactics used by politicians from either party. I've seen these so called 'targets/cross hairs' used by both parties, spoken words 'hinting' at various violent crimes, more spoken words hinting that they're own candidate is in danger so you play your part in 'protecting' him/her...which leaves a lot of room for interpretation. My position would be the same if a conservative was shot and someone dug out a poster created or approved by a democrat that depicted similar visuals...I don't really get the sense that you would be the same
-
"If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun"...do you folks from 'Left-topia' stand by this comment from your fearless leader, Obama? I'd say that's far more flagrant than anything Sara Palin did.

the repubs on this site are trying to sound so reasonable,,but anyone who has been keeping up with this thread knows it's just an act. They are hate city personified ...remember the controversy when Paul criticized bush ,,that is their real nature...they are feeling the heat.

ROFL - I never condoned the flood of Paul hate posts that came through after the Library incident. I fully support Paul's entitlement to his opinion (like I have any say in that
) just as I would anyone...but I also support my own right to my own opinion as well. To be honest, Paul's music is probably the only thing we would see eye to eye on
But there's nothing wrong with that - our two opposing sides/views are what keeps things in check

Things are not in check...if they were...we wouldn't have these reoccuring tragedies would we? It is good to listen to good music...and even better when can truly hear it... with our hearts

All the hate talk has to stop, both sides. But it won't, because it masks the real problem, no real substance. I'm afraid this is mostly true of Gov. Palin, with all the ridiculous slogan talk, man up, hard working, re load, etc. I just don't know how anyone could defend this talk and many politicians are saying they will not change. Aren't we supposed to learn from these horrendous events. Even if it's not their fault, in the words of Sarah Palin, can't we man up and speak like intelligent humans, not gunslingers. But not going to happen. It's just sad. Rich, I rather live in left -topia, at least none of us would defend this speech in any form. We should all be demanding intelligent civilized discussions from our elected officials.
-
Well the "Terrorist" just learned a new way to impose terror on America. Go to any sporting goods store buy a automatic weapon,go in to any temple, bank, public place and open fire. You'll get at least 31 tries at destruction. As Sarah Palin says and just RELOAD!! So does this mean we have to attack Alaska and AZ now. I guess the town meeting will have to held at airports since that is where all the homeland security in this nation is. Everywhere else its a free for all. Interesting how fox's is going its a crazy person, one lone guy. He acted alone. Why did Palin remove the bullseye off her sight within 36 minutes. If she wasn't guilty she would of left it up.. Oreilly and Hannity and Beck are blatantly proud of their remarks and refuse to tone it down. But their followers are so high on Kool Aid they don't get anything.
-
Palin's stupid Alaska t.v. show was cancelled even before this atrocity. At least there's that, her show won't be aired anymore. I read that even this latest shooting and killing spree "won't affect gun control laws." That's just great. What will it take? If Columbine didn't, what hope is there. Rep. Giffords' husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, was scheduled to commander the next space shuttle on its journey to the International Space Station, which is commanded by his own twin brother. Now it's in question if Mark Kelly will get to be the commander and go on the shuttle, because of this catastrophe in his family. He probably won't. So this tragedy has even affected outer space.

Not defending anything (per se')...just pointing out the hypocracy when similar or even more inflammatory comments/actions from the extreme left are ignored in lei of propagating hate...all I can say is - well how about that...the idolized figures from both the extreme left and right are capable of being douchbags - what a shock
: And where was all this talk of 'educating' Sara Palin before Saturday? Was it ok then, but not now? That's another aspect that makes it hypocritical. Should she have been more careful? Maybe - but so should numerous other political figures from all parties...Lastly, the story with this guy is just unfolding...You just may be surprised to find out exactly what triggered the attack or inspired him...and this unfair attack on Palin will be exactly that, an unfair attack (unless you're willing to carry your plight against all politicians - including Obama - who've used symbolism of violence to to speak their voice)...If this guy tells an investigator 'I brought a gun to this fight', what will you think then?

You consistently post some of the most narrow minded, irrational commentary on this site. (And that is really saying a lot.) Nobody should pay any attention to what you say.
