what do you think of Dogs

I have to clarify my dog's outfit. I DO NOT DRESS HER UP! She's a short haired dog from the south & she shivers in this weather! And she must have had frostbite on her back feet so we had to get her boots. And why is it soo hard to find boots to fit a dog's foot? Terrible!

Yesterday I went to the humane society and saw this lovely english sheepdog mix! So so beautiful! I just wanted to take her home! She had a nice personality it seemed, reminded me much of charmy!! It's funny how each dog has their own distinct personality....
awww...took my about 8 months of looking at shelters & online to find my dog. Have you looked at petfinder.com? You can type in your zip code (which I did) & find all the animals close to you that are up for adoption. Check it out!

Ok...got a couple a pics of my hound with her winter gear on! This is only for when it's below 10 degrees & there is ice on the track at the park! ![](<a href=)"/> ![](<a href=)"/>

Awww Ooubu... thanks for sharing those pics... Your doggie is stylin' in those cute matching coat and boots!!! I love it She looks pretty happy!
-
She was having so much fun in the snow that when she came running out back onto the track, she fell flat on her face. Exact same spot where she did yesterday! hmmm...maybe she likes it. I know she likes not having her foot froze!

My lab used to love the snow so much Especially when it was deep and he loved to dig his nose in it and then flick his head up and spray powdered snow in the air!! He would jump up and down and I think they wrote the word frolic for him, because he would just bounce around in the snow... He LOVED it so much!! He turned into a real puppy. I really miss him I cannot replace him ever... I wish I knew about the doggie boots back then...

Your dog is adawable oobu24!!! And her jacet and shoes match! Gotta have a stylish dog! I have two other dogs already!! I think I'm good for now. Awh, loves2travel, I understand what you're going through. I don't think you can replace a dog 'cause they're like your friend... But we should be thankful that they came into our lives.

Thanks for sharing your dog's pictures. One year my dog wiped out on the kitchen floor .... he became hesitant or shy to try and cross the floor. He would try over and over - then tear through the kitchen as fast as he could to another room. I tried putting throw rugs in a path .... but it did not 100% work. Someone suggested dog boots .... and as silly of an idea that it seemed - they worked. I agree with you they were really tough to get them on his feet.

I have been thinking of my dog in the snow .... running and rolling around and digging his face and sliding it in the snow .... it was great - funny and a feel good moment of being with him .... He is still in my thoughts all the time ..... and it has been since last March that he died ..... yet it feels like yesterday - what an impact and impression he made on me ..... to still think of him all the time - I miss my dog too .... I can understand that thought and feeling in many who have gone through this

^awww...have you thought about getting another? After mine died (she was a lab/husky mix, 17 years old)) at first I didn't want another. But then I started watching animal planet & going to shelters & I felt I wanted to "help" a discarded dog. It took 8 months...why I don't know...but then it became an obsession to find one. After a 17 year old, I knew I didn't want a puppy so I found this one on petfinder.com & went to see her. She was an adult & very laid back. BUT...We waited too long & she got adopted by someone else & that's when I knew that I really wanted her. Then those people returned her! So I finally knew that I had to get her. And I am so glad that we did. So...if you feel up to it take a look at some dogs at the local shelter. There are sooo many dogs there that just need a second chance.

Thanks so much for your understanding... right before he died he had some moments where he became frisky and playful like he was younger dog again. I will always remember that... That's one of the thoughts I hang on to... that and during thunderstorms and how he needed me to wake up and hold him... He was the dearest friend and he could read my mind too!!

How do people know what a dogs name is?
-
How do you get a dog to eat dog food? This Doberman Pincher I'm taking care of was spoiled and wants special treats and leftovers instead, and will start whining and barking real loud. I don't always have something special to give him. Often just hard and soft dog food. Also, are dogs hungrier in cold weather? This one seems to be.
-
suz, he'll eat when he gets hungry. Don't let him boss you around!
-
Yes..good advise, oobu! Susy, also, don't leave the food down on the floor if they don't want it...it's not appealing to them if it sits there. Keep it on the counter and eventually when they get hungry enough they'll start sniffing around where it is and gesture for it. Hope that helps, and yeah, don't let em' push you around..

dogs very cute and cuddly never to be abused or any other animal for that matter

We've got dogs & cats! Love them all! It's so much fun to watch my Yorkie & our Bengal run & play & chase each other all over the house!

My Yorkie does as she can't tolerate most commercial foods. We get her Royal Canin's Yorkie Formula. It's quite expensive but a 10 lb. bag lasts 6 months.
