what do you think of Dogs

Fool! Glad to hear that he is doing so well. It is amazing to see a "rescue" coming so far. I LOVE going for a walk/run at the park with mine. We do it every day. On occasion we'll go to a further one (fav is over 50 miles away) & make a day of it. Mine still has problems going to events in a parklike situation. There was a scarecrow fest a couple weeks ago & a rescue group that knew Lucy was gonna be there. We went & she was pretty good for awhile (as long as I was feeding her hot dog morsels) but then she just puts on the breaks & says NOPE...not going there! Really weird...but we keep trying & she is getting better. I think she remembers too many adoption events in her past? Who knows. I love teaching her tricks & seeing them suddenly "gettin it". Right now we're working on "whisper". I want a short yip & I'm starting to get it. I'm using a hand signal...probably the wrong one...but it works. I move one hand like it's talking & hold the treat in the other. It's sooo cute seeing her look at the talking hand then look at the treat & then I say whisper or inside voice. She does it now after some prodding! One of my coonhound friends has an article in a dog magazine on how to teach this...I have to get that mag & see if I am correct in what I'm doing.

Got a pic Gypsy?
Haven't had a chance to upload any. Will get to it soon. I'm going to dress her up for Santa Paws in Dec. All the money from the photos goes to animal charities.

Why don't dogs like fireworks
-
It probably hurts their ears. My birds can sometimes imitate dogs and meow like cats. but to them dogs and cats are both four letter words love doris

We have a black mini schnauzer, he's a yappy little guy. But we love him despite this character fault. And his stinky paws. We named Sgt. Pepper.

My Yorkie loves the new stuffingless toy my SIL gave her! It's like a flat Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!

When I got my dog .... there were two different dates for his birth ..... the vet picked an estimated date in between those two .... it is December 15th ..... So this will be my dog's birthday .... and he will be one year(s) old it is coming up soon and he is hinting for a bunch of treats or toys or even some kind of chew bone type of thing Shhhhhh I don't want to give away anything in case he sees me typing
-
very cool fool! We the same type of a guess for our dog. But we just use the date we adopted her & call it a "Gotcha day". She is probably about 10 now. We've had her for 4 years already. The only toy she will play with is one that can hold treats!
-
I like that ....."Gotcha day" ..... (of course I would have to wait until March)
-
Well then do them both! I have a birthday week...(for myself) so why can't the pooch have 2 birthdays? We make up the rules as we go!

Not thinking much of dogs at the mo, or one particular one, at least He barked so ferociously at the tiny kitten I rescued and terrified her so much that she screamed, My God was he going to kill her? Would he? It appears the darn beast won't let me keep her He must have looked like a gigantic black fangs-baring monster to her, behaving like that

man I can smell your breath a mile away! or...you got cake?

I've fogotten how much work it is housebreaking a new puppy. When I take the little fellow outdoors & he's done his business, I praise him lavishly & then give him a treat for being such a good boy! I can't get over how tiny he is!
