Oh, so you just don't understand what it means to be anti-social. Well, ignorance is bliss I suppose.

Well, why don't you go there and explain it all to them, then. Since you know everything about the "dynamics" of the economy and society. Explain it here to us.
When did I claim to know everything about the dynamics of the economy and society? By the way, why do you show that little cartoon of Paul squirming as if he has to urinate?
They associate wage with accumulated wealth and whatever related ideas they seem to hate....'nough said

Anti-establishment =/= anti-social. Anti-social implies being a loner or hanging with a few outcasts. An anti-social personality disorder comprises a lack of regard for the violation of others' rights (so, one might argue that, say, pepper-spraying an 84-year-old woman is symptomatic of such a disorder). You don't agree with the movement, that's fine, but opinionated trashing of something you don't agree with and/or understand has no place in a reasoned discussion, at least as far as I'm concerned.

Do you think that video is something I just made up for you?

TV coverage of OWS is being blocked by the media. over 32,000 protesters are in NY and Bloomberg has ordered no fly Zone. You tell me the government isn't trying the squash this and block these protest nation wide.

Anti social disorder? Funny their organizing through social networking. Their in 12 major cities in the US with a few hundred thousand attending and in major capitals around the world. There very organized. Why is the city not providing bathrooms? Why is the mayor not listening to these people and taking a look at the policies and doing something about it? These kids are very clear on there demands. Get the Greed Out!! For all you Righties as you like to think of yourselves as, remember your base core. Christ driving the money changers from the temple. Even back than these banksters were making trouble. the OWS were not the first to drive greed out.

Do you think that video is something that shows actual substance? To borrow part of a quote from the film "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," if you take a political attack -- from either side -- at face value, "I bet you think strippers like you too." Come on. The one or two second snippets of footage don't match the incendiary claims of the voice over. "They attack police" is paired with footage of police pushing protesters away from something, "do drugs" is paired with someone lying on the ground and "trash public parks" just shows protesters gathered together with sleeping bags. There is no proof of said behavior in this video, just more baseless accusations put to video with quick cuts to various snippets of footage to create the perception of chaos (it's your standard fire and brimstone political ad fare). As for the urging of adopting socialism, I thought many anti-OWS members on this board were talking just a few days ago about how the protest had no discernible direction. Now, its a democracy-hating juggernaut hellbent on socialism and destruction? OK, if you say so. But that means that all Muslims want to terrorize America, all Southerners want to bring back slavery and the Tea Party movement endorses violence, racism, anti-Semitism and opposes elementary grammar and spelling, because evidently large groups of people can be best defined by their lunatic fringe. And wait, I just came across this, but look:
Since you apparently take anything that gets posted on YouTube at face value, and this directly opposes the link you just posted, what exactly does all this mean?! -
LOL - she was already anticipating the fallout from her baloney and clouding the topic with 'I'm from a good family' rhetoric...My mom is nice (although I hardly see her any more ) and I'm sure yours was too...what does that have to do with the topic?

Um, I'd pull out a dictionary and look up the word 'sarcasm' in short order. My inclusion of the video was meant to mock your steadfast belief in the biased, amateurish content of the link you posted. Nice to see you ignore the first two paragraphs of my post which addressed your offering sans sarcasm.

If you can find fault with Elizabeth Warren than you need to stop drinking the Kool aid. She was a republican when it was a party. Read her bio- feed your brain. Than read Scott brown's and you decide who would be a asset to government and its people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Warren http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Brown

Here in Detroit, the Occupiers are better residents of the parks then the drug dealers and hookers that usually are there.

Wow. You can tell when someone has been eviscerated in a debate when they resort to childish name-calling of those they disagree with. This is only vaguely germane to the discussion, though it does highlight the effectiveness of conservative talking points, so if you want to go there, we can. If the middle and lower classes realized that the Democrats, by and large, are looking out for their best interests, they would be in much better shape. This chafes Republicans, but it's true. If it wasn't, why would the GOP whine and moan that Democrats want to "raise taxes" when, most often they want to raise taxes on the wealthiest income levels? They trick the lower class into thinking they are middle class and the middle into thinking they are upper, then throw out terms like 'class warfare' to make it appear that the lower class is receiving handouts from the upper and especially the middle class, when they are merely manipulating the public into voting against their best interests in favor of the wealthy. That's a pretty basic overview, but that's the harsh reality. This is definitely a tangent, but since every time one of the anti-OWS conservative members gets taken to task by a detailed post, they seem to retreat for a couple of days rather than take their medicine (hi, EADG and rich n), I figure they won't mind going in another direction. But these cute, pseudo-clever conservative tenets like the '10 commandments of liberalism' or the saying that 'you can't help the poor by stealing from the rich,' don't account for the fact that greed and the manipulation of the economy has destroyed the American Dream. The playing field isn't level, because so few rich people are self-made men and women and its more difficult to rise up on the economic ladder than it ever was. Maybe higher taxes on the wealthiest Americans isn't "fair," but what is fair exactly? A flat tax? Sure, that means that the rich still pay more, but 25% (just throwing out a random figure) of the annual income of a single mom working two jobs to scrape together $15,000 is worth a heck of a lot more than the same percentage to someone making at least $300,000 a year. So, no offense, but you can take those '10 commandments' and shove it.

First - I actually work (full time) for a living while also doing the 'full time' thing in college (ADN nursing program) while juggling husband/father duties...I say this for two reasons...I don't need to be berated regarding my posting habits here...secondly...I actually try to build better earning power by...ummmm...earning it vs asking for handouts. And my wages are very modest at this point...It certainly makes me feel better doing things this way vs sitting in a tent out in a city common asking for handouts...but to each is own

O.W.S. - How will you know you have gotten what you came for? How do you measure it? What is the end result? Example: When protesting the war - it can be measured by reducing the troops, having the troops come home, ending the war, and all agreements of war is over ..... yea our protest is over (for now). I ask these questions because there does not seem to be any clearly defined "exit strategy" , in the O.W.S. movement - that has been answered by a protester. Next, it really bothered me that someone posted earlier on this thread that it did not matter if the average everyday worker in these protest areas get pounded by not being able to get to their jobs, get to their customers or have their business torn up. (Especially their restrooms - that get damaged and cost them to repair) They are trying to make a living - they are not making millions - - but they lose money, sometimes jobs until this is over ..... the wrong people are getting hurt and you say so what?! Just curious ..... who is giving the marching orders?

I work full time as well, but I wasn't berating you for your posting habits, I was pointing out that you either disappear from the conversation for a while or change the subject when you are losing or have lost a point. Like the anti-Elizabeth Warren attack ad which I took the time to refute. Rather than rebut my comments, you made some vague response to a link I posted out of sarcasm. I pointed this out to you, but rather than respond to that you re-joined the discussion with some childish image out of the mindless Republican playbook. And no offense, but I'm a recent college grad working full-time at a restaurant and transitioning towards heading up the open of my own location in the next year to 18 months. I'm not about to say my workload trumps yours, but at the same time I'm working 45-50 hours a week, so I at least have a leg to stand on in this discussion. And leading the discussion towards this is disingenuous, because my comments described what you posted about, not when you post them. You shied away from the discussion on the Iraq War and an earlier OWS conversation after I had responded with what I thought were reasoned responses. I don't expect you to agree, but failing to acknowledge the point (or an inability to challenge the point), only to wait for the discussion to move on and a return with an unrelated, biased post is annoying. It's telling to me that in my lengthy diatribe you took offense to that one sentence, once again ignoring the crux of my argument. Sorry if it hurt your feelings, but I think your missing (or purposely avoiding) the point.
