The nerve of the Obama Administration - In an election year ... The Department of Homeland Security is Monitoring news sites in addition to social media. Might the "news" be something not liked by the current administration? http://ca.news.yahoo.com/homeland-security-watches-twitter-social-media-183721483.html
I assumed that's been going on for years.
And why should Janet Napolitano be so concerned with news only sites which do not have the ability for readers to leave their thoughts? It's an election year - this is not a coincidence

A good debate is always welcome and I think in the end it will be interesting to take a vote and see who voted for who. I think we still have the die hard Obama people and the Obama let us down people and the I hate Obama people and the anyone but Obama people. I think the Independent party is going to really make the decision this year. Kind of interesting that Trump is even suggesting he would run under the Independent party. Why? No one would vote for him. So that must be the Rep tactic. They know there this whole movement out there but their mistaking thinking that the OWS is backing Obama and I think there sick of both parties. I think a good Independent would have a good chance and I not sure either party can feel safe that it won't be their people going over the wall. Sopa passed today. Obama is now as bad as Bush.
Sopa did NOT pass today.. Might check on your news sources sure not accurate Here is Whitehouse position: http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/01/13/obama-administration-responds-we-people-petitions-sopa-and-online-piracy best to check on facts Obama is doing a great job. The only ones as bad as bush would be the repub candidates including Paul whose ideology strongly resembles David Duke...check it out...I did

This is more of rhetorical question...but what kind of outcry would there be if US soldiers pee'd on dead terrorists under Bush's watch?

Ron Paul's ideology (at least on national defense and the middle east) is almost a mirror image of Obamination...almost so much so that one has to wonder if that Republican reject is actually an implanted democrat

Well that makes me like him more. I hope he splits the Rep vote

Why are Barack Obama?s critics so smart? By Nile Gardiner January 17th, 2012 Prominent Obama-backer Andrew Sullivan has a rather pompous piece in this week?s edition of Newsweek, which the magazine has subtly headlined on its cover page: ?Why are Obama?s critics so dumb?? You can read the whole article here at The Daily Beast, but his conclusion pretty well sums up the entire piece, which reads a lot like a desperate White House press release: If I sound biased, that?s because I am. ... http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/nilegardiner/100130000/why-are-barack-obama%e2%80%99s-critics-so-smart/

To help save the economy, the Government will announce next month that the Immigration Department will start deporting seniors (instead of illegals) in order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. Older people are easier to catch and will not remember how to get back home.

He's a rarity. Unfortunately, political observers like him have no room in the GOP.

Well, I see he's found his cojones again. There just ain't no compromising with Republican politicians -- it's their way or the highway. To paraphrase an Elvis lyric: Obama does all the givin' -- and they do all the livin'.

What I like is he's getting ahead of their backlash...the republicans are drowning in oil money. They'll screw the Earth just to satisfy their oil billionaire supporters

Wonder how long he will last as a conservative. He has talked about how the conservative austerity measures in the EU are bringing them to the breaking point. And how in contrast the US is having a slow but steady recovery. He understands economics...but then he has had some bad judgements in the past. Perhaps he's just growing older and wiser.

Two big news items -- both could be trouble for Willard Mitt Romney: 1. Santorum actually won the Iowa caucus 2. Rick Perry will announce that he's dropping out of the race, which may ensure victory for Gingrich in South Carolina. Well, Mitt...ya' might wanna keep that champagne in the cellar a little longer. (insert bad-news trombone wah-wah here) "Wahmp-waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh)"

Frightened by the recent "Vanity Fair" mag article on Mitt Romney, from a new book coming out on Romney. He thinks he's better than everyone else. Also he was terrifyingly cold and ruthless to two Mormon women he was supposed to be helping in his position as a church leader. He told one of them "you're not my kind of Mormon" since she was low income and also a member of a group of Mormon women trying to get advancements for them in the church. Romney's wife refused to attend the group. Romney told another one to give up her baby for adoption (she was a single mother) or go through excommunication and "never seeing the face of God." They said he exhibited no compassion, warmth or understanding at all. The thought he might become president is very chilling to me.
