Okay Susy...you had to say the word "spooky" didn't you so here's what happened to me today, but it's all good, cause (as you say) it's in keeping with the Halloween Season So, I'm the kitchen...a stone's throw from the computer, when all of a sudden I hear voices coming from it. I go to the screen and there's no picture, but the audio from the 1965 Shea Stadium Concert is playing loud and clear!! I couldn't believe it....I haven't looked at that in months and months So I continued to listen til' the end, but what stuck out was John's singing "I"m Down"...I love that part when he starts laughing and playing the keyboards with his elbow which I pictured in my mind. So then, I'm still freaked out and I think of that quote from the cowardly Lion in the "Wizard of Oz"...'I DO BELIEVE IN SPOOKS, I DO, I DO, I DO BELIEVE IN SPOOKS"... So I decided (for the fun of it) to look it up cause I knew I was gonna share the story here and this is what I find first shot....
I mean it was sooooo weird!! Anway, there's my contribution to Halloween....I did get some good laughs out of the whole things so it's all good...Se la vi.....and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! -
What in the world, Claudia!!!! (Or out of it)--how did that just start playing on your puter??? Was John Lennon reaching out to you or something??? That is so cool!!!! Sort of reminds me of the time when I had just turned my puter off, it was off, and a woman's voice suddenly issued from it, saying a few words I couldn't make out, and I jumped and stared at the puter, amazed This happened several years back and I've never forgotten the incident. Your Cowardly Lion vid from "Wizard of Oz"--what's the lion saying there, Claudia? I couldn't make it out. Was quite loud though. I think of computers as "tiny genuis machines." Seems there was a movie a few years ago about spirits from beyond communicating through p.c.'s and televisions and radios and whatnot. I wish I'd seen it. I'm open minded and open to new, different and unusual things and you must be too, for that to have happened, and you were alert and noticed it and that it was remarkable--how did you think it happened and what do you think it meant??
-
Susy...First of all the cowardly lion is saying 'THE WALRUS...THE WALRUS"...that's what took it over the top for me!!! I couldn't believe it!! ops: Funny, I just remembered you did a post not long ago of Jeff Bridges saying "I'm the Walrus" "I Am The Walrus"...it was on John's Birthday, I believe, remember...I mean that's neither here not there, but it just came to mind You know, Susy, I have no idea why this happened, only thing is, I told you, as of late I've been having alot of these synchronicities with you especially, and some other things have happened round' me as well. All I know is that this came together very quickly and completely took me by surprise, and all the impressions were definately felt from John! Thanks for understanding where I was coming from...that's interesting that you had a similiar experience. I have a feeling this isn't the end of the story.

Damn the lion WAS saying "The Walrus...the Walrus" and then he giggled or went "hee hee"--that wasn't in the movie! Whomever made that vid placed it there, you think?--or did they?--it's uncanny that's the first Oz Lion vid which came up for you, right after the initial mind blowing incident of The Beatles In Shea Stadium '65--your computer was on at the time, right? But it was just on "idle" or what you call it, when you're not using it right then? Is that it? I'm trying to get this straight. So you did nothing to call up that Beatles concert vid, it just came on suddenly "hands off" by itself?? Is that it? That IS what you meant, isn't it...that's weirding me out, but in a good way, a very good way! I love it when "small miracles" happen, sometimes they're not really so 'small" oops gotta go rite now more later

That was also really striking & unusual when I was thinking about that Irish poem and shortly afterwards you quoted the entire same poem in a post! But this really tops that... I know what you mean about various odd "E.S.P" or extraordinary things which happen in a cluster sort of in the same general timespan. "Synchronicities" as you said. A lot of people don't notice these things, it all flies right past them. I try to be on the look out. To try to augment and intensify conscious awareness, to live and think more in depth not just on the surface, to see the extraordinary in the ordinary. Of course some things, a lot of things truly are extraordinary. Sometimes I try to live as if everything is, and regard everything as special and miraculous. An attitude and method of seeing which I can maintain for short periods, but not continuously on and on. When someone reports an odd extraordinary incident as you just did, that reminds me, and that I used to regard such happenings as 'signs' from God or the Universe that God really does exist. Was I naive or deluded to think that? I hope not

Precisely Susy...the Walrus had nothing to do with the Lion character or anything else in the Wizard of Oz movie that I was aware of....that's why it was so unsettling when I clicked on to it! And yes, my computer was in the "idle mode" .....I was not using it at that moment...completely hands off. I had stopped using it a short while before and I hadn't viewed that particular video in probably a year or so, and for what it's worth, it happens to be my favorite Shea Stadium video because it contains pre-show footage of fans being interviewed, etc. Reading your writings here on this subject were pure music to my ears, Susy....you have the uncanny ability of expressing my sentiments quite rightly many times over...it's very refreshing indeed, and for that I thank you . Yes, that Irish poem thing was pretty cool and there was a song synchronicity we had not long ago as well that you were quite taken aback about aswell I totally agree with your theory of not just living on the surface of life....I mean it be such a bore wouldn't it? My sensitivity wouldn't allow for it anyway I think keeping a healthy balance in all things is key and also certainly keeping an open mind aswell. So, NO, you're not deluded or naive at awwwl my dear, thinking these things are signs from God or the Universe or whatever...it's all part of he mystery of life! "Uncertainy and mystery are energies of life. Don't let them scare you unduly, because they keep boredom at bay and spark creativity!" -R.I. Fitzhenry -

Yeah Claudia, suddenly "This Guy's In Love With You" by Herb Alpert started playing in my head out of the blue, and I wondered why...not very long afterwards you placed that music video of the song here!! So, did you have E.S.P. on that occasion, or did I? (LOL) Thanks for the mighty kind words, Miss Claudia
-
Alright...I'm gonna say one more thing about this subject and we'll move on totally...I just had to share this I just found out the theme for the big Hallowen Parade in this towne this year was none other than THE WIZARD OF OZ....and THE COWARDLY LION was the big focul point character this year...OMG...I couldn't believe it....he just won't go away!!!
-
(Laughs) And he's such a cute, adorable character, isn't he! So darling in "The Wizard of Oz" movie! He's precious

Here's a real 'STING' "groaner" if you hate him ... I've always liked this one, and hadn't heard it in years, when I came upon it last night whilst' watching the movie and SOUNDTRACK for ..."White SQuall"??.....

Some corkers, Claudia...this was a great thread, glad it's been brought back up to the top. "Tuesday Afternoon" love that, although I had thought it's the one which has these gorgeous lines and melody: "The sound... I have heard in your hello, oh, darling, you're almost part of me, oh darling you're all I've ever see" and Justin sings that with such feeling. Wonder which Moody Blues song that's in. It's gorgeous. I always loved "Solsbury Hill" and this time, I pretended Colin Firth was singing it, I'm really into him right now since seeing "A Single Man" and from the Bridget Jones films and playing Mr. Darcy. "A Single Man" truly moved me, it's stunning. I wish I'd seen it on the big screen. It's heartbreaking. From a stunning Christopher Isherwood novel. I want to see "The King's Speech." Firth might win the Oscar for that! I'd forgotten what a jaunty charming ditty "Oh Yoko" is, there's something kind of delightful about it even though it conjures up visions of Ono (LOL) who isn't my favorite person on the planet, nor is she the worst. "I Am the Walrus" always a trip to hear that. Gives a strong, weird rush. "I Remember You" really gets to me, it sort of saved my life. After my daddy passed away and I was on the verge of killing myself several times I heard that song on the radio and it somehow made things better, that song, along with a very artistic dream I had. The power of art really invigorates and empowers. Here's Nat King Cole and (of all people) Bjork singing "I Remember You"

Yeah, this was a fun thread Susy, lol, especially all the LENNON/WALRUS hauntings that were taking place, seemingly, just in time for Halloween!! Enjoyed also reading your thoughts on those particular songs, (glad you enjoyed them) and especially what you wrote about your Dad...that was very touching, and I'm sorry you were so devastated...I was inconsolable at my Father's passing aswell. I'm so glad I played that song that means so much to you...again we connect...it's a hauntingly beautiful song isn't it. I also had one that spoke to my heart immediately after my Dad passed too ...this is it . It even speaks of a carousel, and that so very much reminds me of the best memories of Dad and all our wonderful times at Coney Island together. Funny, I was just thinking about Dad last night... I'LL BE SEEING YOU - Frank Sinatra
-
That's one of my favorite songs! "I'll Be Seeing You"-- I especially love how Judy Collins sings that, with her lovely silvery ethereal voice. Your revery brings up memories of visiting Coney Island with a Cuban New York City guy I was dating, Claudia. We went there on the train through Brooklyn and I was digging it. A dwarf, a little man, came up and looked at me which was striking. The whole area was so atmospheric. The Cuban hippie guy walked around drinking beer out of a brown paper bag. I was munching on a candy apple, and a little girl peered up at me and said "Mommy, I want one." We watched a grown man riding the carosel. I wondered why he wanted to, but it did look like fun. A Nathan's Hot Dogs was there, Nathan's had the best junk food...I sensed the presence of swarms of sun bathers from the 1940s, having just read "Sophie's Choice." I could almost see them lying out on beach towels and playing volly ball at the ocean there on Coney Island. Their 'ghosts.' Speaking of John Lennon, the Walrus and halloween mysteries, amazingly my Daddy gave us right many signs, after he passed, that his spirit lived on. He practically announced his survival on a billboard through various extraordinary events which I won't describe, because it's so personal. And some people might not believe it. But it's so, so true. Those odd incidents helped me get through that period, too.

Hey Susy.... if your words don't paint a pefect picture of a day in the life at Coney Island I don't know what does!!.lol!. I mean dwarfs, candy apples, Subways, Nathans, and even your latin hippy dippy boyfriend with the beer in the brown bag...lol...perfect!! Oh, and yeah, Carousels are so magical...I would really love to ride one again sometime...I bet I'll get the same rush as when I was a kid, I just know it!. Hey, btw, I would love to hear one of those events that took place regarding your Dad if you'd be willing to share it....I have one that I would share aswell...that's up to you, though...i certainly would believe it.. Oh, and here's another song from the movie SABRINA ...I actually had never heard it before today and coincidently, it's very jazzy, which we've been talking about on the other thread and it's also sung by me favorite...lol...Mr. Gordon Sumner, aka, STING!! Kinda nice.. Enjoy! MOONLIGHT -

Corr, what a romantic sounding ditty! thanks, I'd never heard that one. (Laughs) It did seem somehow perfect to come up from the subway stop onto Coney Island beach and the first thing I saw was that cute little dwarf man peering up at me. I sort of wished I'd grown up on Coney Island like Woody Allen did. Or anyway, he was from somewhere in the vicinity. I'll e-mail you about the "signs" from Daddy, Claudia. All that's too personal to place on exhibit here, even though I know Paul Mc. himself would be totally down with it, cool with it, and all. I've discovered not all his fans who post are tolerant and open minded.
