We love Abe !!!

A friend of mine said that he's a way better drummer than Ringo. Any thoughts on that?

Definately. Ringo might have invented the game, but Abe took the game and went PRO! Abe could drum circles round Ringo ANY day!

Here's a screen cap of Ringo and Abe from the Good Evening Europe vid on the premium members bit.

Ah okay, I know too little about drumming skills for making a huge difference out. Thanks for explaining. So Abe does also sing? Has he a better voice than Ringo?

His singing is AMAZING. He can do the rocky numbers no problem, but it's the ballands that blow me away!

Wow, sounds great. I like Ringo's voice, esp. for country-like-songs like "Act Naturally". But juding by this video, Abe seems a way better singer technically, a good singing voice indeed. How does Paul got him? Were there a casting or does he just saw him and picked him for his band?

I think he was just drafted in by David Kahn to play on Driving Rain and he's stuck with Paul ever since

Oh he's the producer on Driving Rain. Here's an interview I did with him... http://joshgill.wordpress.com/2011/03/01/an-interview-with-david-kahne/ I'm glad Paul kept Abe on. He REALLY drives the band and pumps in the energy!

Nice one, interesting interview. I liked that he likes "The End of the End", one of the greatest songs ever. Yeah, the best live-band Paul had, I would say. Better than Wings line-ups too. And technically maybe better than some of the Beatles members.

Technically, yes. But not as far as creative as Ringo was in his prime. Just take 'Let It Be', Abe is perfect in making it a tight (you could argue he's playing it heavy metal-style, but that's another story) stadium rock version, Ringo exactly provided the song what was asked for. But Ringo didn't have to play it in front of stadiums. And Abe doesn't have to play a studio perfect album version. Different styles of drummers, different purposes.

I love when he sings harmony with Paul in the last verse off The Long and Winding Road!

Okay, thanks for your explanation.

Yeah, Paul takes the harmony and Abe sings that small section of the melody PERFECTLY. Especially on the GENYC version!

There are moments in "Rinse The Raindrops" when Abe absolutely, irrefutably owns.

Exactly! Not to mention his epic drumming on Sgt Peppers / The End live!
