Paul McCartney 2012 Rumours
-
RMartinez:
Paul McCartney played in New Mexico in 1993. That PROVES he will play places where he won't make a lot of money!
That was neary 20 years ago when tickets were cheap and tour programmes were free...he seems to be a lot more money oriented nowadays!

I had to reply to the "it's about the money" comments. Oh please, he's a billionaire. And he's the least materialistic billionaire in the world.
What does it mater if he's rich?! He didn't get rich by playing places where he wouldn't make a massive profit, did he! People forget that as well as being a musician he's a businessman as well! I'm sure he has a firm grasp of his finances and profit margins when selecting where to play!
He's a good businessman & has MANY good businessmen to take care of his business! If he didn't care about money...he could do the shows from noe on for free...yeah...that's a good idea huh? OMG...can you imagine that? :

SusyLuvsPaul:
It isn't only the money (though perhaps that's the biggest factor?), he gets such a staggering reception in Latin America, they love him so much--it must be overwhelming, ecstasy of a sort for a performer and musician to feel such adulation from massive hordes of fans all at once--that must be the second most compelling reason
This Susy woman knows what she's talking about, you better listen to her. Paul performed in Argentina twice in his lifetime: 1993 and 2010. I wouldn't call that going there all the time. Brazil is an immense country and he played there in 1990, 1993, 2010 and 2011 (albeit 2010 and 2011 in different cities so I'd count 3 times in his lifetime). So there you have it.

He's played there very recently tho, there are plenty of places he has not played in years! When was the last time he actually did a proper UK tour??? And 3 dates at Christmas isnt a tour.

hardly a tour is it. 75% of them are in england and the majority in london. Ireland isnt the uk either. I mean an actual tour comprising of many dates in a short period of time in different countries within the uk.
-
I may be wrong but the last time Paul done a tour consisting of only UK cities was back in 79 with Wings, I'm only speaking up for cities in Scotland here when I say places like Aberdeen, Dundee & Edinburgh deserve better, ok I'll speak up for my English cousins to, many cities down south have been ignored for to long as well.

He needs to do a proper full scale tour of the UK working from Ireland, up to Scotland and then working down mainland UK til he gets to London!

He never did that in Argentina. Consider yourself lucky he did it in the UK in 1979!
-
One show in Wales since 1975, come on Paul!
-
Another thing to mention is that in South America (except Chile) all shows sell out at an amazing pace and with tickets a lot more expensive than anywhere else.

Tickets are more expensive in South America? How much are they?
-
Basically South America contains the biggest Paul fans in the world, and richest.
-
well you can rule out Argentina the government wont allow him in.

Why is that? Because of his drug convictions?

In Buenos Aires in 2010 Soundcheck tickets were US$ 1600 and tickets from row 7 to row 35 were US$ 450

Now that is funny. The Argentinean government is famous for letting Nazi war criminals in, I bet Paul will not have a problem. He didn't in 1993 and 2010 and never will.

Richest? In Argentina? Yeah, right. At least 60% of the people that work in this country earns less than US$ 900 a month here.

Yeah, lucky, his last UK tour (proper) was 9 years before I was born...real lucky! You missed the point. He is British, he's also had a house in Scotland for nearly 50 years which has provided him inspiration for many songs and also given him some priceless family memories and solice from the break up of the beatles and he can't even give us a gig now and again.

Sounds like the end of the 'On the Run' Tour
Stuart Bell:
This month also saw Paul announce some new tour dates too. The 'On The Run' tour will travel to Switzerland, Holland and Belgium later this month and finish with a very special show in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall.
