KOTB charting

Recently while switching channels on the radio I heard "My valentine" in a programme for elderly people. When it was over the host said "That was 'My valentine' from the new album ... (pause) .... erm from Paul McCartney." They couldn't get themselves say the word! Kisses on the BOTTOM. Haha

Kisses isn't thru selling, and no matter how much some people want to downplay it's success, for a side project, it has done absolutely tremendously well, sitting at the very top of a major mainstream chart for five weeks! The sales are ongoing!

But I agree that if another single isn't planned -- or unless the tour results in increased airplay of the current single -- the sales-heyday phase for KOTB has passed.

IMO KOTB is a really good album, very good and other superlatives. Had its place in the market, charted how it should have IMO. still one I will eventually get on vinyl, its that kind of album. total bottle of wine album. I need to do that Paul's song choice on the record is actually really outlandish. there's a lot of interesting and unique songwritey stuff involved in the songs he chose I think. thats another thing I think will be fun when I really get into this album. basically eventually when I get the vinyl. to try to appreciate what Paul saw in the songs. that will be cool s**t!
One of these days, Kapoo, your passion for vinyl is going to convince me to buy a record player. And that day will be a sad one for my pocketbook, however happy it will make my ears. But I totally agree that his song choice is terrific on this. And I await your in-depth analysis! I also love his voice on the album. In a recent interview, Ringo Starr said an interesting thing about Paul's voice on KOTB:
"His voice sounds great on it. I was trying to recollect if I'd heard that voice before because Paul has many voices. In The Beatles of course John had THAT voice, Paul had several voices and I couldn't place it at all, it's like a new voice that he'd found. He was telling me he was doing it a bit dramatic then he got to this whispering type and it's a beautiful rendition of all those songs."
Well, said, Mr. Starr.

Awesome quote from Ringo! He's spot on, Paul does have many different voices, soft lullaby, boisterois rock, regular rock, old school Little Richard, Elvis, ragtime, trippy.. but this whole tender-whispery is a new trick. Its obviously something he's had to grow into but he's wearing it well. when my guys get their shop back up and running, I'll hook you up with info for a sweet vinyl source I recommend. They used to be Platterpus.com, but will be coming back as CheapKissRecords.com. you know I'm all about my vinyl The original goods. but their prices are literally the best on the planet, will def save you money if you ever do want to but vinyl. however I pick up from their store and avoid shipping I suppose... shipping is what could make it costly too. one day I'm sure I'll get all into hearing the remasters etc. I feel like I grew up on the remastered editions from 93 or whenever. Every CD or iTunes track I've ever owned of Pauls has always been remastered. the vinyl has become my remasters!

After buying a second copy from Target (for the 16 track version), I gave my original 14 track version to someone at work and two weeks after the fact, they haven't stopped thanking me

I really like the live version of My Valentine.

Glad you noticed it as well Mark, Pinky & Perky, especially Pinky must be bored if he's trying to kick this all off again with his usual boggertory talk! the needle must be stuck on Pinky's turntable, he says the same thing every-time he posts, a blind man can see he's trying to get at me lol one things for sure Pinky aint as clever as the Elephant he makes out to be. ho ho ho As for Perky, well what can I say, I've heard many a ridiculous statements on here in the past but this one is up there with Chamberlain's "peace in our time" lol Best to ignore them like i've done mate

Umm...I'm not seeing that happening, to be honest. BOTR is a classic album with a number of hit songs on it. KOTB, for its charm, doesn't quite have the same staying power.

The ridiculous applies to both sides, it's been ridiculous for Paul McCartney ever since the Beatles broke up! Imagine releasing great music only to have some critic get the music totally wrong! Kisses has done absolutely fantastic, and no matter what kind of snide remark some want to make, that is the truth!

very well put lazy I've done as you suggested and blanked his snide remarks, all he ever posts is super, brilliant, fantastic anyway All this reminds me of the time i was a member of the Dennis the Menace forum, a new guy named "2handedboy" joined and started all this Gnasher is better that Dennis nonsense, everything Gnasher done was greeted with super, fantastic, brilliant, it was as if Dennis never existed with this guy, he took things even further by suggesting the writers should axe Dennis to make Gnasher more accessible to a mainstream doggy audience, it got to the stage where if Gnasher barked, 2handedboy would say that bark will go to No1 in the Billboard Mutcharts, to cut a long story short, the guy got booted from the Beano for continually writing to Minnie Minx telling her, he was prepared to become a cartoon character and marry her if she agreed to adopt Gnasher, Minnie Minx was having none of this and asked the members of the Dennis the Menace forum to step in, we (the members) told the guy he was being delusional if he thought it was easy to become a cartoon character, especially when his last 200 posts on the forum were bordering on breakdown, you might all be saying breakdown seems a bit harsh considering i'm talking about a cartoon forum here, but what i haven't told you guys, I'm a member of "Twitch" and i can tell you right here and now that anyone who posts 200 similar messages has definitely got a TWITCH!!

Left Hand Man is always enthusiastic and positive minded about Paul's projects. Some people really are like that, you know. Avid cheerleaders for what they love. Some possess that capacity. Not cynical and jaded
