Wasn't it one of the brats who recorded it?!
My misunderstanding - not understanding ...... I thought it was recorded by a kid who felt sympathetic .... bad for what was being said. In that case no cut in pay for the kid ....

$648K now. Karen Klein was on the Today Show today. She isn't sure if she's going back to the job when school starts. She does not think the two written apologies she has received from two of the boys are sincere. She has also received calls of apologies from parents of two of the boys. She seems totally overwhelmed by all the attention and the amount of money in the fund. Very humble lady. Her daughter was also on and said she has not been able to watch the entire video. Neither have I. It's too upsetting for me.

I saw one father saying they had death threats. I hope those kids get punished for this. Putting their families through this too. : What an embarrassment. But they are all over...no respect anymore. shame...
-
I feel really bad for the lady who was harrassed but this is nothing new.....this happens all the time, everywhere you go. It is good that it was taped and caught on youtube so people will see what really does go on. Hopefully it will open some eyes now. Young kids who get bullied aren't so lucky.....you hear time after time how a child as young as 12 took their own lives because they could not handle the torment anymore. Hopefully something good will come out of all of this......

There was a march against bullying in Karen's hometown on Saturday. They want all bullying stopped, not just what happened to her. It happened when I was growing up, but not to the extent that it does now.
-
I've dealt with people who claim to be adults saying stuff like this to me every day for the past 8 years. My message to those kids, "You've got bad parents and you make poor human beings."
-
Mr. Spock:
More good news: All she wanted from these children was an apology and she finally got it..
It was hardly an apology. those kids said they coldn't believe it was them saying those things. That is a way for a bully to dissassociate themselves from their actions which these kids did rather then claim responibility.

It wasn't real death threats. The kids in bullying the lady where saying things like "I'm going to poop on your door. I'm going to find where you live and P**s on your porch." The threats said that. it was just repeating what the kids said back to them. I never met a bully who could take what they dish out ever.

as an adult, I'm bullied too. It's not just the kids that get bullied.

I do think I read an article or actually it was a video of the dad standing in front of his house saying that...about the threats. Can't find it right now. But either way I hope the parents TRY to teach the little punks some respect.

Well, I know from my own experiences of being bullied as a child in school that the parents are always part of the problem and are never held accountable even in anti-bullying laws. When I was in 7th grade, being bullied, they went too far. One boy, I'll call David, destroyed all my original writings I had stored in my desk. (aside from the threats of rapes and the beatings I was getting) I called his parents. His mom answered. I told her what he did. She responded, "So? That's between you and him." If it had beem me doing the bad stuff and my mom received a phone call like that, I would have been made to apologize, replace what was stolen in some form and I would have been grounded. My parents wouldn't have tolerated such behavior from their children. I was stunned, but I had been talking to my family's lawyer actually because of my fear of going to school and isn't this assault or something? I said to that lazy breeder right then and there, "Well, ma'am, I am suing him and as he is a minor, I have to speak with his parents and that's you. I suggest you start behaving like a parent right at this very moment because you will be hearing from my lawyer in the next few days. THIS BEHAVIOR OF YOUR SON'S WILL STOP." (My mom heard my end of the conversation and to this day said she never felt more shocked hearing me say that all of 12 years old to an adult). Well, the breeder then screamed, "DAVID, GET IN HERE!" and then she yelled at him if he ever touched my stuff again, she'd break his hands. It's the parents. It's always the parents. I want to one day hear a judge bang a gavel on the parents of a bully and say, "YOu raised an a****le. $10,ooo fine." The parents are never held accountable. Only the schools. Why? Because they have more money. That's why.

Great story KO. And that statement above is sooo totally the truth. Parents today are so different from a couple generations ago. A lot of these parents today don't care or think it's cute. I just called complaining to a talk radio station here. They were playing some kid crying about some sports thing. : : Who cares? And I don't think it was cute. Now...that's what they want their video to do...go viral. Doesn't matter if you look like an a$$.

My boyfriend is a teacher, and you are totally right. Seems like our leaders are too reluctant to shift blame/accountability accordingly.

Audi, it's the lawyers. They want to go after who has the money and one rule of being sued is " you never sue poor people" because money is the only compensation allowed by law. Case in point: A friend runs a cafe that does booming buisiness on wed and attacks large crowds of teens who hand out in the alley behind and party. one attacks another with a bottle. the victim tries to sue. He doesn't know his attacker and apparantly, nobody else does either. (Some claim he was white. some claim he was black) So the victim's lawyer sues the rich cafe owner. He says, "It didn't even happen on my property but in the alley." Lawyer said, "Yeah, but you have the event that attracts them." (Owner host a drum circle that is actually quite small and for some reason, attracts a bunch of non drummers who congregate). My friend loses and has to fork over cash. This goes on all the time So, they go after the schools who have more money and the breeders get away scott free when parents are responsible for their offspring until they are 18

Want to know of a case where my bully's antics really backfired? She knows I grew up abused by Christians and am not fond of them. So, she goes to a bunch of Christian websites and poses as me saying things like, "Hello, My bame is Kathryn O and I need you all to pray for me. I am such a loser and..." Then she'd post this weird made up sob story about having a husband leave me as a single mom and I'd have health issues like a broken leg. the story would vary. HEre's what happened. Not only did these Christians send me their prayer cards and notes, but they also sent me money. Lots of it. At first, I had no idea why I was getting nice cards in the mail full of cash. After about three days and getting several, I decided to contact these people and ask them what was going on. They contacted me back via e-mail showing me the posts that they believed was me asking for help. I then joined the websites just to thank everyone for their generosity but that the story was a hoax perpetrated by a person with ill intent. I offered to either return the money or use it to buy food for some of my unemployed friends. Everyone said to either keep it or help the unemployed. I bought groceries with it and gave it to my pals who needed it most. It was a four digit sum and would have grown larger had I not been honest and stopped it. My bully then would continue her charade but state, "Please don't send money." That didn't work. some generous souls still sent money for a little while saying, "Treat yourself." Yes, I had to contact them too. Don't you just love it when a bully's plan fails for the best?

That is a sick chick. And your karma is about as wholesome as it gets.

You know here in the states you can't go barefoot in a public place because of lawyers. You stub your toe, you can sue the place so they make you wear shoes inside. (at least that's why we were told we had to wear shoes in school when we wanted to take them off) Last summer, I went to a party and there was a lawyer who never wears shoes. My owner kicked her out of our store earlier that day for being barefoot and she said she went to our competition and he welcomed her despite her lack of footwear. I then told her what I said above about why we are forced to wear shoes in public places. She responded saying that if she injured herself being made to wear shoes when she wasn't used to them, she could sue too. I then yelled at her, "Will you take a good look at the society your ilk is working to create. Do you really want us all to interact with each other in that way? It sucks. and it's your fault." She was properly mortified.

Shameful.
